So beautifully melancholy. My all time favorite Cocteau Twins song. I'll take this with me and travel the stars when the time comes for me to slip this mortal coil.

Excellent quality video. Wonderful, thanks for uploading. What a superb Friday evening show The Tube was. So glad I was a teenager at that time and got to live and experience that time of awesome music. From Motorhead to Roy Harper, Siouxsie and the Banshees to Talk Talk, Southern Death Cult to The Cult. The brilliant Cocteau Twins. How lucky we were to be alive, young and impressionable at that time. I am eternally grateful to all of those musicians that played a very big part in creating the man I am today. Regards to all who may read this. Kent, UK.

This beautiful piece of art and quite a lot of this mortal coil takes me back to the late 80's where I think i would give just about any thing to be given another go at enjoying life.

This may seem completely unreal, but I didn't know you had this hidden among your archives, Ratepelade. I just found this while I was wandering around KZbin and then I suddenly realized that you had edited a cleaner version of "Pink, Orange, Red", which is the clearest video, I've witnessed regarding this song. I always love to just watch Elizabeth's eyes, just as she stares downwards and has a blank expression to her face. People have debated, in the past, that she really knows how to focus on her vocals and she simply blocks out the world around her. There's such a sullen grace to how she seems completely focused in on herself and there's always both Simon and Robin alongside herself. Over time Elizabeth would focus more and more on a distant light up in the balcony seats at their concert events, but her little habit only highlighted and accentuated her grey-blue eyes and add a mystique that only Elizabeth Fraser could perform. This is just pure magic.... !!!!

With Liz Fraser’s lyrics, Hydra (you know it ‘cause you’re a Cocteau Twins fan), translations often tell us more about the translator than about the source text. The “translator or traitor” conundrum isn’t solely a matter of taste, however. It's reasonable to ask whether all hear this song in Latin rather than from a bridging or relay language - English, in this case. This is crucial 'cause anybody who might read “Pink Orange Red” lyrics in English version (wrong one) will take that as the sole manifestation of Fraser’s intention, so a mistake in the source text will multiply and spread. Admittedly, music is more important than lyrics. Yet, “Pink Orange Red” hidden message still resonate today : Take care of the planet, especially the infinitely small ; judge people by what they feel, not what they write ; don’t take yourself too seriously, especially if you’re translator.^^ And, in fact, things that are important can be seen only with the heart, not the eyes nor the ears. Poetic wisdom for some, English language or “Peas and carrots” for others, Fraser’s lyrics will doubtless continue in new iterations for a long time. Ladies, gentlemen, I humbly entreat you to read “Pink Orange Red” only in Latin (real version) ; and when you’re done, to look at butterflies and caterpillars. Who knows ? You might just see them differently. Thanks, Hydra, for your comment. If you have anything to add, my friend, please do.

".... Judge people by what they feel, not what they write; things that are important, can be seen only with the ❤heart, and 'not' the eyes, nor the ears ...." ― Ratepelade The Lyrics to "Pink, Orange, Red" are butterfly names in Latin: Endrosis-osis Lotella-ella Endrosis-osis Vivigeossa-ossa Meliteae phoebus hyala phoebus hyala cloeyessa Meliteae phoebus hyala phoebus hyala nossinussa Sesia-ia Sultitan-itan Sesia-ia Totella-ella Hymeae saturnia hymeae nossinussa Vacua venessula vacua nekitella Tuphia vanessa venessa enovalla Sacyare oponalla oponalla hyniassa As the clearest and best preserved video for the Cocteau Twins "Pink, Orange, Red" ― I feel it's appropriate to show the lyrics, which is something I rarely do, because most people want instant gratification; but, you must see past the literal words. This song displays vast amounts of Elizabeth Fraser's character, because so much is written "in between the lines". It's no mystery that Elizabeth has a penchant for words themselves, but often she wordsmith's together different meanings, unique features, a skewed beauty like watching the clouds above contort, deform, rearrange, and drift off into the Eastern Horizon; all while, if you can imagine, laying on a surfboard afloat on the ocean swelling up and effortlessly retract downwards forever. Many times I've fallen asleep at sea on my surfboard in my hometown of Santa Crus, California while listening to "Pink, Orange, Red". It's the closest thing to touching the face of God, in my opinion. The power of an oceans grace is in the tender mercy it shows you when properly respected by all, so these are the rewards for taking such a big risk. There's no feeling like it. Also, the true story about Elizabeth going to a local yard-sale and discovering a book about Entomology, the study of various insect's. Not many people understand that she holds a great fascination for the smallest of things, and even, when working in her garden ― You'll witness her carefully 'cup hold' caterpillars, cocooned pupa, or help the fledging emergence of a spiders web. She'll wait and watch this tiny spectacle unfold before her eyes, and it's been the inspiration behind many of her songs. This is her world, where we can envision a kindly woman caring for nature and a peak at the real woman, who can transform Latin words into: "Iridescent Paper Airplanes that Float Between the Blue Moon's or Spain" A snippet of "what could have been" after the 'Milk and Kisses' album tour, but sometimes life happens. So when reading the lyrics, don't just read the words, but look for the meaning behind them. As Elizabeth once said, about the idea of someone writing a biography for the Cocteau Twins: ".... everything anyone needs to know about me are written within my lyrics. While others say my music creates a calm euphoria in their minds: I can only feel the pain associated with them. It's too painful to relive everything all over again in a book or movie ...." ― Elizabeth Fraser Dear reader ― Know you should understand why she is hailed as, "The Voice of God"

At last ! Thanks, Hydra, for having restored "Pink Orange Red" lyrics, and conferred on them the highest dignity. Words using as pure music are unique as they illustrate the extremely subjective nature of poetry : that's the strength of this song. Once again a thousand thanks for your kindness and your valuable narrative skill.
