Sophia Lee Cool! I'll try that out :) I used to first colour correct the shot, then match my CG to it and then apply a grade on top of the comp.

How did you guys do the targeting lasers on the full-length movie, especially in the final breach scene? It looked amazing!

If I had to guess, I'd say untargeted practical (some kind of lightshow laser device) effect, then some reference shots to build CGI for the laser scanning around the door frame, center of mass, down to the head on each combatant. Yours was a better thought out operational concept than the sequences in the Robocop remake, Kin, Chappie, etc. It really seemed like where a weapon system like that will be in 2021; some kind of range-finding via laser radar technology augmenting computer vision to make sure it has clear line of sight to the target, repeating the same shot placement script for every kill. I've worked with real CV and LR, and this is how things were actually done even 3 years ago.

does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on how to do the mocap vfx transfer for the heads in this short. Is it just a matter of tracking the points or did they actually use mocap? Any and all information is amazing and greatly appreciated!

Why are even normal things like the "Police" patch on the robots or the bumber from the police car getting animated?

I wondered that too. Maybe they didn't have the budget for a police car with an actual push bumper. The police vests are probably easily procured military vests so no official police lettering.
