If you think this is bad, check this out • County Commissioner's ...
Gary Rodehorst, code enforcement "officer", stalking and harrassing residents?
Fraudulent fines and attempted robbery!
Attempts to fine them for $4520.00 for a tire that was low on air? Even if it was completely flat, is this the purpose of government?
We wonder how much work this taxpayer had to loose to waste his time in Code Enforcement Kangaroo court.

It’s hard to tell with the grass hiding the bottom of the tire. But, is he saying that any tiny thing that makes the vehicle temporarily inoperable must be constantly monitored and immediately addressed? That’s an unreasonable expectation. Especially if it just went flat or it’s a slow leak where air can just be added.

@@ronmcmartin4513 Uh, yes, low tire pressure IS a (real) danger. Especially with front wheel drive vehicles, if/when you have to hit the brakes in a hurry, the vehicle will "pull" in the direction OF the low tire. Imagine driving on a two lane highway, or on a highway with multiple lanes in one direction, with a low left front tire; applying the brakes quickly and hard, the vehicle will move at least a little amount INTO the lane to the vehicle's left (it would depend on HOW low it is, how far over it will go) possibly putting vehicles IN that lane in danger of being struck. If a motorcycle was the "other" vehicle, death of the operator OF the motorcycle is a quite possible result. Any/every time I SEE a vehicle with a low tire while riding, I tell the driver ABOUT it, especially when riding on an interstate highway...

Also, when I was 15 back in 71,mother wanted a privacy fence near the back door,so I put up an 8 foot high fence,we were told it had to have wholes in it,to let air and light through it! Code enforcement is no different than an HOA inspector. They exist merely to write up perceived violations and to extort money from you. Whenever I have seen actual code violations that cause a real safety hazard and reported them it takes over a year before someone ever shows up to look at it. But BS like this and they hop on it immediately, sending a code enforcement officer to look at someone's vehicle and send them a $4,000 fine for having a tire low on air.

He still got hauled into court about his 'litter'. The complaining neighbor had all sorts of pictures of this guy's back yard that he could not have taken without trespassing. The car guy only asked the complainer where he was standing for each picture. Finally, after pains takingly admitting to trespassing, an uncover State Police officer stepped forward to arrest the trespasser and thus end the dispute. For good.

Believe it or not I have a better one, built a house back 25 years ago, going for the final inspection (have to have, it called a CO, Certificate of Occupancy) before you are allowed to move in...The final inspector failed me for (get ready, its no lie) the grass was to long/tall around the fire hydrant across the street that protected my property, I told him it the cities problem to cut the grass not mine, and its not even on my property...He failed my final inspection...needless to say I was pissed, went right to the mayors office next day with this one, he signed off on my property...True story...

Years ago, im retired now, i worked 12-hour rotating shifts. It was the winter making the days shorter. Because of this the folding ladder i was using for soffet and gutter work, i fooded and placed at the top of my driveway at the foot of my chain link fence. This gave me like an extra 15 minutes of daylight to get my work completed. One day a compliance officer, who must have just went to a class, took photos of the just visible ladder, behind flower pots and one of the ubiquitous basketball hoop. Then walked onto my property for close up images. Over reaching beaurocrats. Took two visits with the office and one, finally to the city manager. Used a vacation day for the unnecessary hearing. But i did get warm and fuzzy feeling from the apology i never received
