CODE LYOKO - EP19 - Frontier
Following a heated discussion with Aelita, Jeremy decides that he has to go to Lyokô in person to meet his friend and ask her to forgive him… Yumi is not too keen on the idea as Jeremy is the only member of the group to perfectly master the super-computer’s technology. Her fears are confirmed when she hits the wrong key, trapping Jeremy somewhere between the real world and the virtual universe. Part of the scanner’s memory has been lost stopping anyone else from transferring onto Look. While on the run from the creatures XANA has sent to get her, Aelita works on freeing Jeremy. Meanwhile, Yumi, Ulrich and Odd try and find a way to free up some memory so they can get to the virtual universe…

Such a great episode: There's no Xana attack. There's no return to the past. The conflict isn't created by external factors; it's created entirely by the Lyoko Warriors' inherit risk in using the supercomputer, a risk that's taken every episode. We get some juicy lore on Lyoko, the supercomputer, and how they interact with each other and the real world. Jeremy can't do anything to help for most of the episode. We visit all 4 sectors. The love triangle is as spicy as ever. The episode tends to suggest that Aelita can feel emotions, one of the first hints towards the spoilery thing.

(She still doesn't know about it and never finds out) Yeah, you'd do anything for a friend, but kissing Sissi was doing too much and was unnecessary. Odd even reacts in disbelief. Ulrich even knows not to ever tell Yumi about it because it would definitetly make things even more bad between them. He sure was running really fast out of that room though when Yumi confronted him. Thus, makes me come to another conclusion: Ulrich keeps secrets from Yumi as well that involves Sissi. (Episode 41: Ulrich thinks about the kiss Sissi gave him on the bridge, and lies to Yumi and the group, saying nothing happened. Yumi still doesn't know about this either. Did I mention that Ulrich writes about Sissi in his diary?) There were times when Ulrich would do things with/for Sissi out of being jealous over Yumi and William. He always made assumptions. (Like reading Sissi a poem that was meant for Yumi just because William gave Yumi roses on Valentines Day, and agreeing to go to the dance with Sissi just because William wanted to talk with Yumi and saw William holding hands with Yumi. Like, damn Ulrich.) I don't blame Yumi for making things platonic between them. It was a real mess, and got on my nerves. lol

I could go on about why I disagree with your opinion, but then we'd be here for quite awhile - although I will admit you do have a point about Ulrich mishandling his feelings for Yumi rather badly at times. That annoyed me as well and I understand why Yumi ended up just declaring it platonic in the end. But I still think the show definitely made it rather obvious who Ulrich truly loves in the end of the series. And it was still rather clear who Yumi loved as well. No one questioned that there, especially the group or the TV audience. But, you have your opinion, I have mine and everyone else has theirs. So, this episode is a bit of a bump in the timeline when you consider the zero episode that came out after where they explain how Jeremy and the other became the Lyoko Warriors. They never showed Jeremy on Lyoko, but they explain in that episode that the reason why they can remember the events that happened after they go back in time is because they've been to Lyoko. So, this wouldn't have been Jeremy's first time going there and one of the others would've sent him through before.

He did not really set foot in Lyoko. He scanned himself to insert his data to the supercomputer thus being immune to the Return to the Past. It was stated later that because Jeremy did not enter Lyoko, Xana can possess him, so they really sent Jeremy there during that episode.

I believe you only need to have had been scanned by the supercomputer. Thereby stopping partway through the virtualization process. Though this is just a guess as I don't believe it was ever explained.

I remember this episode pissing me off lol. As a kid I was thinking, finally we'll see what Jeremy looks like in Lyoko and what his powers might be. Then all this happened. Also this would have been his 2nd time getting virtualized since the Prequel 2 part special showed that when they all returned to the past for the first time, Jeremy was the only one in this group to lose his memory and the running theory was that he was the only one not to be virtualized. So I'd assume he went into Lyoko offscreen. But with that said, idk how they messed up Jeremy's transfer this time.

This doesnt make sense as in episode 0 jeremy had to scan himself inorder to remember what happened before he launched the "return to the past" program. Also why is yumi acting as if her and ulrich are a couple AND why is she daydreaming about jeremy ???? WHY DID THEY NOT LAUNCH THE RETURN TO THE PAST PROGRAM AT THE END, now ulrich is going to have to suffer.

Tarasei Afrifa I can't answer your first question, but maybe the reason why Ulrich and Yumi was acting like a cuple was probably because they are more than just friends, but maybe they don't realize that. And the reason why Yumi was daydreaming about Jeremie was because she was worrying about him being in limbo and loosing him forever. And Jeremie probably didn't launch a RTTP was 1, the supercomputer didn't have enough power at that time, and 2, Jeremie probably just wanted to stay out of the situation all together.
