I'm 35 years old and Story Of The Year is my favorite band. Period. They made some musical choices that prevented them from breaking it BIG big. They went against the major labels suggestions and went heavier with the second record instead of pop like Panic! at the Disco. Got dropped and have been on independent labels since 2005 or 2006. Glad to see someone else like them

I have found a recurrent theme in most interviews and it's volatile the music business and band success can be. I would like to hear from Chris how they survived their self-titled records, what they are thinking about that, and how they overcame the people's reception. I had the chance to watch Suicide Silence live in 2015, totally in love with the band, and no other than respect.

Really undercut Will Putney as a producer and musician at the end there. Will has produced all of Thy Art is Murder’s albums, Northlane’s ‘Node’ album, which, was sonically fantastic. He writes and records all of the music for Fit For An Autopsy. He plays in the amazing band END. And most importantly, his mentor was Machine, who recorded ‘No Time To Bleed’. I’m really surprised that Garza doesn’t recognize the name.

They still sound like Code, just with versatility, more bands need to be like them & take risks & evolve. Like they said in the interview, even back then, they had an indie rock side project during the early Code years, all they’ve done is expanded the boundaries of what people think their band should be & do what they really want
