Thank you so much for this build. This has made my first playthrough so far a breeze. It was still hard, but there wasn't a time where I was extremely stuck I noticed people are commenting how useless this build is now, but in my experience, this is still a very solid build. It just got a few gifts nerfed harshly For anyone here who wants to customize this build, and are here after the 1.2 to 1.5 updates: - The barrages don't work as well anymore in this build since they got severely nerfed. It used to be the most spammy spells in the game due to it's IIRC 400% damage multiplier, so running this build with high light made it extremely powerful. They should have a 200% damage post nerf (they used to hit 6-8k damage per spam, but now you're lucky to get 3k. Not too worth it). I would suggest just running Gift extension if you have the season pass DLC from the Astrea bloodcode. This helps mitigate a bit the Final Journey timer nerf as well, and it will make Bridge to Glory and Adrenaline disgustingly long time (Bridge to glory is extended to around more than 2 minutes, and adrenaline will last for a whopping 4.5 minutes). This build in my experience is still very VERY good to running bridge to glory because of how high the light gift stats are on these veils. It obviously won't be a Noble Silver, but it has respectable light stats that Bridge to Glory will be very good, while remaining tanky - Final Journey received a nerf to the timer from 3 mins to 1 minute. This isn't too heavy of a nerf if you don't really use Final Journey until around 40~50% of the boss health. You just don't get to use it from start to finish whacking like a monkey. The other nerf is on the mobility. It only buffs your mobility by one stat up (Slow -> Normal. Or if normal -> quick). It hurts, but not too much. It's a 10% less damage overall due to not getting quick mobility when paired with swift destruction. You have the option to remove dragon lunge from this build (just switch between blast and lunge if you're exploring or on boss), and run hasten so you can get quick mobility on 2H swords when paired with final journey The above build is the one I'm running right now. I'm currently tackling the final boss, but this build has gotten me through the game with extremely well

You know what would make for an interesting build? A support build so your NPC partner can do all the work. AKA: Yakumo's Fanclub.

Hmm. Use the dagger passive for ichor without any real effort/danger. The other three passives should be some form of Mind+ for stronger buffs. And then fill the rest of your slots with buffs that work on the whole team. Quick mobility of course to keep up Overdrive easier. Slot in a couple of those gifts that let you take fatal damage for your teammate if needed and good to go. I really wanna try this now lmao.

The Mage 3.0 Build with Iceblood and both Weapon Drain skills, and this build with Cleansing Light and Barrage replaced with Overdrive and Somatic Zeal are my favorite builds so far.

Queens Knight is a good sparing partner and a great way to train yourself to dodge or test builds, also this build is exactly identical to the one im using same blood code just diff garbs and using Silvas sword also Midos sword is still good if you wanna hit hard and have fast swings while doing it, so much to play around with but I will try that garb you use.

But i guess that's the problem with having those walkthroughs out so quickly and early. Same with his Nioh2 walkthrough, some stuff (like this snake yokai ability) he kinda relies on in the beginning, has already been nerfed since :(

dernop yes my friend the problem here is nobody loads no Builds after Patch 1.20 😅 i think the KZbinrs are really bad to play normal builds 😅 always using a OneHit oder OP builds that’s not works after 1.20... Everyone who play’s DarkSouls or Bloodborne or Sekiro ... know that....

I don't know if you're still at all playing this game, but they added 3 new zones which are tower of trials, on top of that... this build has been rendered fairly worthless, they've cut the time Final Journey lasts, by like a lot. So could you see if you can make another good version of this without final journey.

Yep, I'm running a really similar build, with a zweihander +6, queenslayer, and almost all those gifts, it's amazing, and i've yet to die in a boss fight after i switched to queenslayer. can recommend, ty for the video

for those just playing the game now (recently a free game on psplus), final journey was nerfed and last only a minute now and you do not get quick mobility so this is not an OP build anymore….look for another fun build….

I wouldn't really consider this final journey spam, it's worth it for a boss from the obvious damage/mobility changes but I think I used it maybe twice besides bosses the whole walkthrough series? Just wasn't needed.

FJ is busted enough that it's downside is almost nonexistent if you can steamroll a boss, but in general gameplay I guess it does kind of fall off cause the time limit thing might actually run out before you find a mistle. That and most other builds deal more than enough damage even into NG+.

@@KatrinaAmaxas I would recommend using FJ during a boss-fight and not during an enemy ambush, if you are really far away from a mistle, then that would be a hassle. Now the FJ gift has been nerfed to the ground, so it only lasts for like a minute instead of three minutes like it was before. While there are stronger builds in the game, having FJ among the builds is like a life-savior for many NG+ players. I only using FJ on the Gilded Hunter on my second playthrough and I barely lasted, but I still managed to take him down. I'll say this: Only use FJ if necessary and not being careless with it.

Only use it as a last push, like the fight against Skull King, when he enters his last phase, you do the same and you both go berserk. I might go ahead and do that on my current playthrough, let's see how lucky I am during the fight.

the stuff you said about swift destruction is not true... swift destruction gives you 20% damage buff only if you have quick mobility, 10% if you have normal and 0 or 5% (did not test) on slow mobility. Your build has slow mobility on both weapons. Edit: i take it back :D the buff of yours made you quick

I tried a few of those gifts, weapons and Blood Veils in the video, but I'm still not dashing with the blue sparks like in the video. Even after applying the buffs. The only time that seems to work, is when I have a weapon with the Quick mobility equipped. Which is usually Bayonets and One-Handed Swords. Or I have a light weight blood veil equipped such as the Ivory Grace.

I started using different blood code for builds because I'm bored with Final Journey, it's just too boring and no fun at all. There are much more interesting build that build around some blood code's unique skill. Also, Virgin Born is highly resistance to elemental damage, physical damage will easily take him down compare to mage for those who don't know.

Should've mentioned the noble silver or the imperial raiments blood veils. Those have the highest light gift rating, giving you the highest possible damage from light buffs.

I think FJ is still worth it, but you gotta have a decent build for it. I used it against Gilded Hunter and it worked well, but I barely lasted.

@@MrsCutieeCake fwiw... for gilded hunter (I'm on my first playthrough), I think I just needed to learn a mix of block and dodge instead of just dodge. I ended up beating GH with the Garnet Splitter (+5) and blood barrier (and added frost weapons and frost 'bolt' for damage time). Garnet Splitter doesn't block 100%, but with Io, it blocks enough to survive his 'sprint mode', and it lets you stay at normal movement. You pile the damage and then hit a heal before he starts the next sprint. I actually went through two of his sprint modes in killing him and the only trick is keeping enough separation between you and Io, so he doesn't hit both of you hard at the same time.

The Hunter? The white-haired dude? Well, if you want to go tanky, choose Yakumo, an amazing bro and partner ~ If you want to avoid attacks with ease, use Louis, his Communal gift is insane.

Your mobility has to be quick, a lighter build with one hand swords, bayonets and I think some polearms.

It's not TOO op if you don't have the DLC gift extension. But yes, it should be have been apart either the Hades class, or the Queen class, so that you only get it for new game+

Final Journey's downside is so negligible that the only semi-weakness that it has is using it for general purpose exploring. I honestly kind of feel like it needs a nerf, but people would obviously get pissy over that, so it may never happen.

not really as the ardent heavy fires out a red energy blade causing extra damage and staggering,ardent also has better str scaling,only time the black greatsword will win is if something has a weakness to blood dmg (black GS has like 10-15 blood dmg built in) or if you scale dex higher (black GS has lower str scaling but also has small dex scaling where as ardent doesn't)

I know this is an old video, but can anyone help me with leveling? I'm about to fight the insatiable despot, I'm level 15, I heard that I shouldn't over level, because mastering gifts becomes difficult if i do, so can anyone tell me if this is a reasonable level for fighting him or am I under levelled?

You're fairly underleveled, I'd recommend grinding for the gifts then leveling up to around lvl. 30

I am still struggling with the bosses in this, mainly the argent wolf berserker, always scared about losing my money to on my way to it I always try and die at the arena entrance so I can grab my haze before I enter the arena :(. but this first playthrough is just so I can replay the game as a caster, so I dont mind levelling high if I need to, but as long as theres an area where I can still learn moves for later

You need to either use that blood code to master it to unlock it for every blood code, or you can use some haze and the MJ items you pick up in your journey to master it without having to switch blood codes to simply unlock an ability.

I recommend farming the mj items in the depths it was easy for me master all of the skills by farming a crap ton I can give a list if wanted for the easiest to farm each mj

Either you're not using the code for it or you don't have any Awake MJs

Need to use the blood code with the gifts equipped, some blood codes take muck longer to master gifts, haphestus blood code has a passive that makes mastering gifts easier, also kill tougher enemies.
