It’s to prevent them from getting out and doing the same thing while your case is pending. They do have some discretion and might not impound your car if it’s your families only transportation or it’s a company car other employees also use or something. But when you behave the way this lady did I don’t see any cops cutting her any favors. And as for it being parked at her bfs house, she was supposed to pull over blocks away.
