They should also implicate harsh sentences for youth offenders which can transition to adult prisons when they are of age. Kids gets lesser sentencing, meaning they are targeted and used by gangs. So being lenient with youths actually hurts them more

Why? The facts are in. All that does is create hardened criminals who reoffend. Poverty is the biggest cause of crime. Be tough on poverty if you're serious about wanting to fight crime.

@@RichTapestry Not necessarily the ones moving the bigger shipments live in nice areas, in big houses, driving nice cars... they get the younger generations to split it up and get rid of it. those up top don't come from poverty but are bigger criminals than those below... the system is way to soft and massively outdated!!!

@@RichTapestryit’s also been determined through research that a large majority of prisoners have been subjected to some form of abuse in their life-of course that doesn’t justify the actions, but simple imprisoning people for a lengthier term isn’t going to change crime rates and, too many times, leads to recidivism.

Strangely, countries with the most lenient sentences and 'softest' prisons have the lowest rates of crime in the world (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada etc). Lower than our rates of crime. They also have a focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment, and less poverty.
