The Viking took a steady breath, contemplating whether there was any danger. From behind him, footsteps could be heard. Spinning around, a Knight stood before him, with his long sword sheathed. The Viking readied himself to attack, and so did the Knight. Through the Knight's helmet, the Viking could see his eyes filled with confusion. A third figure approached from the south, speaking a tongue neither understood. A Samurai. All raised their weapons, ready to continue their battle. The warriors did not trust why they were all here. The war they have been fighting for what seems like forever reminded them of their rivalries. But something about this quiet setting.. It seemed to calm them. Each warrior looked back at each other, glancing and preparing for the first strike. Though the Samurai did something unexpected. The Samurai put his blade on the ground and took a seat on a nearby rock. Was this a trick? The Viking did not ease his stance. But the Knight slowly followed, sheathing his blade. What had all this been about? They have been at each other's throats for decades. But only now, it seemed, that they dared to pause the killing for a short time and open their eyes. The Viking had lost thousands of his brothers and sisters to these kinds of warriors. And only now did they want to stop? Before the Viking could think to swing his axe, one more figure approached from the west. Wu Lin. This had been the first time each member of a faction got together, and weren't trying to kill the others. Perhaps there was a greater purpose than fighting. The Viking finally eased his grip on the axe. Perhaps there really was a chance for peace. No one showed signs of aggression. Perhaps there really was hope.. They did not fluently speak or understand each other, but they all knew they were there for one purpose. They would exchange stories, traditions, cultures, seeing that their enemies were no different than them. One thing had brought these warriors together. A single driving force that would influence a cease-fire. The thing that reflected off everyone's sheathed and unequipped weapons. Hope..

It was such a great time for me that I only get to realize it now that I come back to this song and the feels rush in. This song is beautiful as it is, but it holds a very special place in me. What an odd way to approach peace in For Honor. When compared to Hope from the original story mode soundtrack (this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmOxhWtoetN8mM0 ), this one doesn't sound nearly as grim or... dare I say, hopeless. The original story was going for a flower blooming in filth and muck, fighting for peace in the midst of senseless violence and rivalry, meanwhile this season is already in Spring! Even if the music sound amazing, I am skeptic about the story. I hope it won't just be an excuse for a golden armor theme. I would LOVE for the story to go forward.

It’s still bothers me that Ubisoft threw this concept away so quickly. I personally would’ve loved to see the Truce flourish into something amazing that could’ve made things far more interesting than just going right back to fighting each other the very next season, forgetting the Truce even happened, and instead making the hatred between the factions seethe into something far worse than it ever was. It really is sad that at this point with what happened from Tyranny onwards, peace has truly been made impossible.
