Some amazing advice in this video! Would you be able to do a follow up on the portfolio section? I keen to hear more about how to build out an ML portfolio specifically, and how to find other teams or groups of MLEs that are working on a product that someone could team up with to get experience and be left with something strong to show hiring managers at companies looking for MLEs!

I’m in the middle of job searching, and this market is brutal. Glad Victor is sharing tips, but man, even with a killer portfolio, it feels impossible to get a foot in the door.

The tips about what to put into your ML portfolio are pretty useful. The problem is getting someone to review it for you 😅

In this market, building a company is faster than landing and cracking interviews. I'm working on some projects

Computer science industry is a total disaster right now. AI/ML is the way to go but its going to be ultra competitive. Victor getting such a job which probably had INSANE competition is impressive

Cool story, but let’s be honest, getting into companies like Amazon or TikTok isn’t just about the portfolio. It’s who you know and luck. Hard work only gets you so far in this industry.

Good watch, but I’m skeptical about the path laid out would work for the normal CS grad to be honest! Breaking into an elite ML team at TikTok would require other qualities and personal merits this video doesn't fully tell. If you're a regular fresh graduate you probably aren't going to follow this persons incredible path and thats okay, these tips are still applicable.
