Generalized formula: - Firstly consider the how many bytes that particular data type takes, suppose taking 'int' as an example, it take 4 bytes which is equals to (8*4 = 32 bits) [1 byte = 8 bit] so the generalized formula will be [-2^n/2 to 2^n/2 -1], here n is the number of bits..... Considering our example of int data type the generalized formula will be [-2^32/2 to 2^32-1] on further calculation it will be ranging between [-2147483648 to 2147483647]. Hope it helps :D

it will be 2^8n/2 coz the power comes by multiplying 8 bits and "n". n means bytes taken by each data type takes, Let's take - int as an example it takes 4 bytes we will convert 4 bytes into bits by multiplying it with 8 bits so it will be 32. hope this helps although a bit confusing
