I use two units of 6 breachers. I used both Dominus and Manipulus with them, and had good results. Any way to give them lethal hits, or sustained hits, is amazing and serirously makes the frightening. Just make sure to keep a unit of skitarii close to them, because in the heat of battle I sometimes forget lol The main thing my army is missing right now are fast units, and I think the Pteraxi would be perfect for objective play, so I am aiming at them. I wish getting a lot of striders was possible but they are both hard to paint and cost a lot to actually make a units out of them :/

Hitting on 4 and rubbish datasheets except for the breachers... Also the most expensive army and most detachments are really unit focused. I ran them out for the first time in 10th and it was a just holding objectives and trying not to die. Not much fun or flavour..... Man Im gutted as they were my favourite army. Anyone else had fun with them?

The Skorpius Dunerider is not like the Eldar Falcon. It's re-roll wounds for the PHASE, that means SHOOTING only. The Falcon is the only transport in the game which grants the re-rolls until the end of the turn. Literally every other version of that rule is shooting only. All this to say, Ruststalkers cannot use the rule. They suck, there is no making them better.

Low impact faction, aka we are horrid. Hasn’t been that fun this edition. Last edition it was super chunky and complex but felt fun, fluffy, and we were doing much better.

Play better. There was a video of them facing Dark Angels (I think), where the Ad Mech guy ran off a few combos his army could do. Was pretty brutal, using the detachment with the "jump back in transport after shooting" strat. From what I remember there were lots of the 'when near a battleline unit the X' abilities

@@chrisg8321 Yeah okay play better. Roll dice better. Spam units, ignore big parts of your collection. Sorry it’s not fun as someone who’s been playing since 8th. Also check the stats. I’m glad some bro on KZbin pulled off some good combos. Unfortunately the factions win rate in tournaments (and club and garage games for me) is horrible. Stats don’t lie.

@@burroc5536 Been playing since 4th... (tail end of 3rd actually) Win rates mean little when there are other variables. List design, opponents list design, faction match up, player skill, opponent skill, deployment zones, terrain layout and rules played, scenario and objectives, dice rolls.... All these factor into "win rate" not just how strong a faction is... It is best to compare like for like so, unit cost, stats, abilities and compare them to like units from other factions... This will give you a much more *objective* look at what truely is weak / strong... For example- Killa Kans and Squighog boys. Prior to the update killa kans costed 40 points more for a unit of 3 as opposed to 3 squighog boys, for this cost they has better shooting and an extra sv and wound. Yet the squighogs were faster, T7, 5+++, not slowed by enemies, better melee (anti and hitting on 3+, and with some extra chaff killing attacks) In the update squighogs went up and killa kans went down because OBJECTIVELY squighogs were undercosted for how tough they are. Both units are now 125pts for 3

@@burroc5536 Not saying to spam units or whatever... (Strawman logical fallacy mate). What I am saying is to think about your army, what you have, what you can do. Think about your opponent's list, what they have, what they can do. Now what do you have that can "deal" with what they have. Any problem units? How can you deal with said problem units? (Avoid, use terrain, etc). Now you may have to add a new unit or two, (that is why GW shake things up a bit), but if you've chosen to play Warhammer 40k you've already gone into it knowing it can be costly.

@@chrisg8321 Ugh the straw man fallacy rears its head. I answered that way because you assume I don’t play well. “Play better” as advice deserves the response I gave. I’ve won games, I’ve got some “combos”; and the army still sucks. For me, now, compared to the joy I had before when running the faction. Also it’s one of the worse factions right now, so scarecrow or not, “play better” is obviously not the only tonic this sickness needs.

I'd really not use the book points. They are wildly wrong. The book lists Skitarii Rangers as an insane 130 points when they're actually 90, and were before the book even went on sale. Skitarii Vanguard are 105 in the book and 80 in actuality, which makes them pretty much our best unit. Also, I really don't understand why you'd consider Rangers the key unit over Vanguard. They cost 10pts more, they shoot worse (+12" range matters much less than +1 shot) and their special rule of sticky objectives is much less important to a horde army like Admech, compared with Vanguard, who can capture objectives off enemies just by moving within 3" of them, in many cases, allowing for amazing primary objective trading with a cheap, disposable unit. If you look at any Admech lists that dare to be taken to tournaments, Rangers are either not being used at all, or a single unit is used in a transport to give it scouts 6" in the first turn. They're just wholly outclassed by Vanguard right now, and will remain so unless they get AP-1 back on their guns. For Ruststalkers and Infiltrators, if you math out both the shooting + melee combined, Infiltrators actually do more damage to almost anything other than T7, 2+ save, infantry models. Ruststalkers are genuinely trash and have no purpose. They can't kill anything and don't have the same utility as Infiltrators. Never take Ruststalkers until they're fixed. The general trend with 10th Admech is the writers took "less lethal edition" far too seriously and removed the damage output from basically every datasheet in the army other than Kataphron Breachers. Nothing does much of anything, and winning games when you literally can't kill the enemy mostly consists of spamming Skitarii Vanguard (which you don't rate, but will do if you actually try them) to deny the enemy primary scoring, and hope you aren't tabled by turn 3

I traded my Ad Mech to my mate Matt in exchange for Necrons. Ad Mech in 10 are dismal rubbish. Super low tier and boring now. Geedubs! Geedubs give me back my army!

It's not hard to win with Admech, anymore. Since the massive point drop, again and again. But the playstyle of flooding the board with cheap garbage units,and hoping for some good saves is not really fun. Or good design

Calling these combos is a stretch, especially as there's only two decent battleline-enhanced abilities (breachers & sulfurhound mortal wounds, the rest will never happen near a battleline anyway) Breacher rerolls is the only one that really combos into anything, with access to lethal hits from manipulus and sh1 from the rad enhancement if you take that detachment
