ym it kinda is, just like the person above me, it all depends on the uni ur talking about, I know for a fact that cs in University of Waterloo (the uni Toast attended) is brutal (I know bc I go to this school rn). Uni of Waterloo in general is known for making its students depressed bc of how they basically upped the difficulty in everything, It makes sense that Toast almost failed, especially since he didn’t attend any classes, that shit doesn’t fly around here. Even if Toast was really good in coding, uw’s exams are very particular to lectures that he probably would fail those

1:56 Actually, copying the instruction set 100 times makes the code run slightly faster than using a for loop, because you're not doing anything else than running the code. You're not doing i++, reading from i, or anything like that, you save up on those CPU cycles. Side note: it's used by some apps to speed up processes, but it's only feasible for loops (pun unintended) that run a static amount of times (i. e. they're not reliant on anything else in the program, for example a loop that runs exactly 32 times no matter the input).

Unrolling loops is actually an advanced optimization technique that, in certain scenarios, can make the code more performant. So Toast is secretly a 5head programming genius. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loop_unrolling
@ruukinen
@ruukinen 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah but you usually rely on the compiler to do it instead of having to manually do it. And trust me any company interviewing beginners is not looking for people to optimize their algorithms past compiler level.
@Michael-Hammerschmidt
@Michael-Hammerschmidt 3 жыл бұрын
I believe, though I may be mistaken, this is primarily done in very low level languages and in assembly language (nearest to writing in binary). I believe it is most often counterproductive in high level languages. But toast is most definitely a 5head... Just for other reasons
@ruukinen
@ruukinen 3 жыл бұрын
@@Michael-Hammerschmidt Yeah, that's what I was thinking about but since I wasn't sure if it's possible to do in high level languages I went with the he has no programming background so he is applying for junior level positions i.e. nobody expects him to optimize algorithms. They want clean and maintainable code, and loop unrolling is pretty much the opposite of that.

My fav. memory of coding is from my Computer Science University degree final year. In prolog (iiuc-it's been a while) and how it looped back in on itself, so for it to work it had to assume it already worked. Which at the time I thought was right cool. 😋 - but at that time I was existing on cans of coke, pot noodles at 3am in the computer lab, and very little sleep.

His acne probably flares in response to stress, when he's working on a hard video (like the surgeon robot) he get stressed and his acne gets really bad and now that he's not that work stressed (I don't actually know of course but it looks like it) his acne "calmed down", and he is probably making some skin care routine, all of this assumptions of course

Then i was like wooow look like they're having so much fun coding, maybe i should try that again ( i tried learning python 1 month before this was upload and give up). Now, 1 year later i'm a junior front-end developer and happy af coding! Hope you (person reading this) is going well in life, and if you're not, just keep trying, because i know things'll get better :).

2:25 i mean you can get creative with copy pasting.1000 times a block of code?Easy! Paste once,you got two times the original code,then copy those two,paste it 4 more times,you got 10 blocks. Copy the 10 blocks,paste it 9 more times.You got 100 blocks,Copy that,and paste it 9 more times! You got 1000 times the original block of code,23 pastes for 1000 blocks of code,and this scales up and up! EFFICIENCY IN COPY PASTE FTW!
