I have watched this three times today and learned something different each time. I sure appreciate the time you take to explain things.

You crack me up! You're so much fun to watch and learn from... I need to adopt you as a cousin or something :) . This is a mid-life career change for me. I failed my 1st exam after taking a course in CPC and Medical Terminology. Going for exam try #2 in February.

Thank you for this series, Mary! I'm currently taking the course offered by CareerStep for medical coding and billing. I used to work for Aetna years ago and have a superficial understanding of codes. I was always fascinated by the thought of medical information being translated to a universal series of numbers. But I realize there is so much I don't know. I'm hoping to understand and master some of the difficult concepts so I can excel as a professional (preferably work-from-home) coding mom while providing a high quality of life for my two children.

I’m studying for my CPC and I take the exam next Saturday (in 6 days!) I’m nervous but I’m ready. I didn’t take courses, I taught myself. I work in billing and have been in the healthcare industry doing entry level work for years. It’s time for me to go to another level and I hope being a coder takes me there.

Update: I missed the test by 2 points! But I’m glad I get a free retake so that’s scheduled for dec 1. In just a couple weeks!

I have been working in medical billing and coding at my rural clinic for almost a year and I feel like I am still in square one of the learning process. I really enjoyed your lesson and will be watching as many of them as I can as well as studying my books so I can take and hopefully pass the test in July. Will you come be my personal mentor and help me get through this?

Hi Gaylene, feel free to send us your questions to info@mascodingsolutions.com. We are usually very busy as we have a small team but we will help answer your questions as fast as we can.

Thanks for your channel. Love your ole school teaching. I take my test in two weeks in ga. Love your videos. Please continue. I’m a LPN. Can you do a video on different ways to gain experience after passing the Cpc. How can I learn what revenue of income and resources are available to us as coders?? How do I know if I wanna be a inpatient or outpatient coder?? I’m leaning towards home health. Do you certifications for home health?

Guys this is my concern about medical coding. If the test is that hard to pass, what will the job be like? Can't you get written up if you have too many claims kicked back because you missed a code? I took a class in coding years ago. I did better w/ ICD 9 than 10. I could code an accuracy rate of about 80% with ICD9 and only 50% with ICD10.

Coders are usually audited and if you fail there should be re-education or disciplinary action if there’s no improvement

5 years ago I took a medical billin and coding course and i honestly i believe I found my calling. I want to be a professional inpatient coder. I just don't know where to pick up where I left off. I have been working for HMO health plan for 2 years and I love the health care field. Where do i start to become a certified coder? I am ready to take this opportunity that I honestly believe God placed me in i just feel a bit lost as to where to go
@jacksycz6 жыл бұрын
What are you doing at the HMO? There is a payer side CPC but if you're just scanning, its going to take a bit more time than if you're processing claims. You'll get there. Feel free to message me and I can try and guide you. JFAMC is a great resource as well.
