Great advise this happend to me this January I had to get hot water to free them off as I was on my way to the airport for some winter sun it would have been difficult to drive with the mirrors turned in.

What’s worse is many cars with folding mirrors, including BMWs, are set to automatically unfold after a certain speed when you start driving in case you forgot to unfold them yourself. Good thing you’re didn’t get damaged!

Honestly this doesn’t really make sense I’ve seen dozens of cars have these programmed and never have had a problem and mind you I live in sweden where it can go down to -20 Celsius in the winter

The issue is more so freezing rain that leaves a thick layer of ice than heavy snow. Unfortunately, that’s very common in areas where I live. We can get ice blanketing our cars from .5-1cm. May not seem bad but it’s enough to cause problems. Even Tesla owners around here sometimes have issues with their door handles not popping out until they remove some ice.

@@BertskiZPolski we also have ice, I know about Tesla door handles and that some owners have had problems with them but I’ve never heard or experienced anything with the mirrors I would say it’s a manufacturer issue if they aren’t designed to work in such environments

Video title is misleading AF.

Video is talking about a feature you code into the car, folding mirrors, and how/when it can cause damage to your car. I don’t see that as misleading.
