I have recently gone through and (by the grace of god) survived cancer. This song is the one that would echo in my head before anesthesia slipped me out of conciousness and during every radiation treatment. "But I remember Matthew 5 and I'm thankful to be alive" was the 1st thought in my head as I was able to breathe a sigh of relief when my doctor told me I was in remission. Thank you Cody for such a beautiful song that personally helped me through a challenging time.

Cody, I found your music first last January when my wife left me and took my 6 month and 2 year old daughters away from me. She suffers from borderline personality disorder and after spending half our lives together (15 years) her mental illness got the best of her and she let her pride stand in her way of getting the help she needed. I went three months never once being able to see my daughters, it was the hardest most depressing time of my life but your music helped me to cope and made me feel not so alone, and more importantly understood. I'm still in an ongoing battle to have equality in my daughters lives, but I get up everyday and live by some of your music. "I cast no stones" and now "im ready for the times to get better". Keep up the awesome song writing and producing, I love your music.

"I got a bad tortured soul, For reasons I don't know, Guess for some, it's just meant to be...." I cannot fathom why, but I was born with a wretched, tortured soul that cannot find a way to be happy or at peace, and I don't claim to understand why. All I can think is that it was meant to be, and I must find a way to accept it and to live with it. But some days, I just wish I could be like everyone else.... Some days, I just want all the anger, pain, hatred, and jealousy to be taken away from me so I can be naive and pure once more... Here's to all those tortured souls out there!!!
