Cody, the measure of a musician isn't in the amount of records he sells; it's in the way he touched the listener and the impact he has on their emotions. I'm bordering on being an old bastard and I've seen a lot of musicians perform in the last 50 years. I truly believe that you have touched more of your fans and listeners than 99% of the musicians that came out of Nashville in the last 2 decades. Take pride because you are one of the last few of a dying breed.

Merle Haggard. Waylon Jennings. Johnny Cash. Willie Nelson. George Jones. George Strait. Alan Jackson. Hank Williams. Hank Williams, Jr. Brooks & Dunn. Alabama. Loretta Lynn. Dolly Parton. Miranda Lambert. Lainey Wilson. (And some others) ...And now, Cody Jinks. These are the country music legends with songs that are true to life and sound damn good. Thank you, Cody Jinks, for doing this cover to the late, great Merle Haggard (aka The Hag). I hear many country music artists mention him in their lyrics, but have never seen a cover song of his until now.

Finally! An artist that knows country music!! I stopped listening to country along time ago, as it took a turn I didn't care for. But you Cody Jinks.. You got me listening to yours! I am old school country. Waylon, Johnny, George and the list goes on and on.. And my friend you are bringing the legends back, through your music!! heart Wish my Dad was here to hear your music.. :) But I am sure he hears you on the other side.. :) Peace out brother..

Same here I grew up listening to the country music my parents listened to that was more like Cody's music. Then most of country music transitioned to 'modern' country, and all of em were about the same ole corny shit...so I stopped listening to it. But a while back I heard "I'm not the devil", and started going thru all of Cody's songs, and they all remind me of the country I grew up on. I can relate to most, if not all of them. And most importantly, his songs sound nothing like most of the modern cringeworthy country that I cannnot even bare to listen to.

It's a damn shame that so called "country" radio stations refuse to play real country like this, and instead they play pop and rap but call it country. Thanks for keeping real country alive!

This mans got it. He's so awesome and sings real country. The kind of stuff that tells a story and has heart and soul, that's what's missing on radio today. Cody Jinks and Whitey Morgan and the 78's are where it's at. I love these guys.

I hung up the phone all those years ago, and knew the clock was ticking, so I ask my girl friend to marry me, we were married that afternoon, the next morning I went to Vietnam, tomorrow thanks to my daughter, my wife of 48 years and I will see Cody Jinks in concert, I heard this song a few years ago, and my wife and I sorta adopted him as our favorite, it has been many years since attending a concert, so I am like a kid going to a candy store, and this song touches you where only love resides !

I normally (99.9% of the time) dont like re-makes when it comes to songs. It seems that all the originality of the song is lost and the new artist just did it for the money they hope theyll get. But this one is different. Cody you did a tremendous job ! I think Haggard would be proud.

HOLY CRAP! its been a long damn time since ive heard fresh country music! just happen to stumble on the hippies and cowboys song and been listening to the rest of his stuff the past 2 days AMAZING how he can sound like Alan Jackson one song and Randy Travis in another and then throw his own kick ass sound to Pink Floyd and Merle Haggard... Thank Jeezus Cody's stuff may not be on the radio and it might be I dont listen to "country stations" but its just really great to know that the spirit and soul and sound of country music as I know and grew up on is still alive and out there! I will be buying some albums for sure gonna look for concerts too!! Cody you got a new fan here man Im gonna spread the word too! major thumbs up to your music and your attitude towards it and not caring if anyone cares or not but just keep on doing what you love i like it man dont cave to the corporate pigs that have RUINED country music.
