This is all this sad online fanbase does, is cry. Cody’s reign has been fine, nothing special so far but isn’t hasn’t been “boring” or bad. He’s had interesting storylines and good matches, while defending the title often. Anyone with a working brain can see the big feuds that will make the reign are down the line. Even if those big storylines had been happening, the same people would be crying on how it should be different because that’s all they do, they want to feel important or that they’re heard. None of them go to shows, or make up the companies stock lmao. There’s a reason Cody has been propped as a huge champion, because he and Roman have been the two biggest guys in terms of forwarding the company recently. Just sit down, stay a fan, and watch.

Cody Rhodes is a very talented performer but I see this all the time with people saying he is the worst champion. Here's the big problems: whoever followed Roman was going to be lesser than him just because his title reign was epic and historical. Also, fans wrongfully praise Triple H for being a genius but Cody's failure in terms of booking, presentation, and consistency proves HHH isn't. Cody's presentation has been lousy and his contenders aren't well thought out like Roman's were and planned out way in advance. I also believe WM 40 should have had a double turn with the ending with Roman and Cody. Cody works much more aggressively as a heel and Roman was going baby face anyway.

Cody is not the worst champion, it’s just lackluster. The people who say his reign are the worst, are literally the people who complained about Roman’s reign, or Roman Reigns stans. And yes none of this is Cody’s fault, it’s literally the booking. None of his storylines have any interesting moments, and he just doesn’t have any interesting opponents. Solo Sokoa is pretty much forced down our throats, and it’s getting tiring. The Kevin Owens battle felt too predictable, a heel turn would be an interesting twist, but it didn’t happen. The only opponent I found interesting for Cody was AJ Styles, but that’s pretty much it.

He's the champ in the most profitable time in the industry's history, he's available, consistent, putting on great matches, the top merch seller for two years in a row and is still mega over with the live fans, and he's breaking all these financial records in his very first reign. Babyface Roman before Paul Heyman was put in the main event scene for six years straight with multiple title reigns and could never get half the reactions Cody gets. Cody’s title reign doesn’t suck. The real issue is that SmackDown doesn’t really have a lot of main-event male Superstars on their roster aside from Cody himself. Therefore, WWE Creative can only go so far when it comes to booking Cody’s title defenses. The only three male main-event-worthy Superstars left(in my opinion) that Cody Rhodes hasn’t defended his title against yet are: Randy Orton, LA Knight, and Jacob Fatu.

Yeah, Cody is like fastfood. Cheap, plentiful, and you eat it often. Roman Riegns is like a steakhouse. You can't afford to eat there every week, but it is good quality and enjoyable. I fast-forward most of Cody's stuff, it's too vanilla. When Roman and Paul Heiman is in the building, it's must see. I'll take quality over quantity any day.

It's not just about in-ring wrestling, it's about the skits, storylines, and backstage Bloodline meetings and acting that kept us entertained. Those were better than most wrestlers' 10-minute matches. The Sami Zayn Bloodline storyline was the best in the business. As far as his title defenses he's fought the who's who of WWE. Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan was classic. Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar 4 times were great matches. Hell in a Cell: Reigns vs. Rey Mysterio, and Reigns vs. Kevin Owens trilogy was great. Reigns vs. Edge, WWE Money in the Bank, and Reigns vs. Cesaro were good defenses. Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre was a great match. Reigns vs. Matt Riddle, Jey 2 times, and John Cena all great defenses. Reigns vs. Demon Finn Bálor was great cinema. Reigns vs. Seth Rollins was a classic. You should be ashamed of yourself for saying only 2 good matches. That would mean the whole WWE roster sucks.

He is the main event no matter who you put in the ring with. Roman vs JD McDonagh would still headline over CMPunk vs Cody Rhodes if they were on the same card. Also in wrestling the heel rarely wins clean. It's part of the schtick. Rick Flare had the 4-Horseman interfere to win, and Tripple H used DX and Evolotion. Currently Solo and the Bloodline, and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, and The Judgment Day never win clean. Pretty much only Babyfaces don't cheat. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I called this from a mile away (like everyone else.) The chase, the Bloodline, was what made the story special. It was the size of Roman's legacy. Could Cody crumble it? Everyone knew once he did, his story would be finished. And that the next one wouldn't be nearly as great. So, I say, to save Cody Rhodes, they need to go the brutal route. He should pull a Bronson Reed and just start flipping out and being super brutal. I think he should become a psychopathic character. But, not like a raving mad lunatic, but I think he'd pull of the "American Psycho" gimmick well.

Is Cody the wrestler actually boring? No. Him vs his brother in AEW had amazing story, promos etc. Legacy triple threat was interesting. Dashing to masked Cody, vs Rey Mysterio was great. Seeing Big Show beat him for IC was fun. Seeing Damien Sandow vs Cody was fun. I was very pissed that Stardust vs Goldust didn't happen in WrestleMania. But it's been 5 months now since he won the title and as of now it's very mid. Mid for someone who dethroned Roman's 4 year reign. Cody's promos can be skipped and nothing changes in the storyline. His match vs AJ was amazing, his matches are good. But this isn't UFC, or a wrestling focused show like NJPW. We all know there are reasons like 'no good contenters' but that doesn't change the fact that one of the two top titles of WWE has no relevant story with all promos being about the champion's dad even after 5 months. 2 years of nothing but "I wanna do what my dad couldn't" and he did it, was so wholesome as someone who knew Cody since 2009 when I was still a kid. But if an entire movie was about climbing the mountain, how long can the movie spend on someone edging on top of the mountain talking about how he did? Maybe 10 minutes max in a 3 hour movie. He did what his dad couldn't, felt wholesome for a month or two after that too. But he hasn't offered anything new as a character, it's his duty to actually provide that when he tolds the main event title, one of the only two titles that's supposed to draw all money for PPVs. If you remove him dethroning Roman, his title reign is less memorable than Damien Preist's reign.

Because wwe has gone too soft. Roman reigns can easily be the heel and could have been involved in brutal blood gore matches like aew but wwe books him too softly. I think they should make Cody a bit more aggressive as a baby face. I think that would make his championship run more exciting. Gunther should hold the WHC till WM41. Would be funny if Dom becomes WHC and loses the title to Rhea. I mean, it would make much more sense for Rhea to be the one to take the title away from him. Cody should turn heel after WM41 and then lose the WWE championship at WM42 as heel to Randy Orton or Roman Reigns.

Cody's reign might be questionable but his booking is similar to Bayley's, which is sad. Both deserved better reigns. Cody has great matches, but these are all forced. Cody even opened at some PLE's, and he's supposed to be the top guy. I guarantee HHH wouldn't dare book Roman to ever open.. **Let's not forget that Roman fought several guys many times and held the title for 3 years. He beat Kevin Owens like 4 times. Also, Smackdown doesn't have many options for Cody since the Bloodline story is really the only thing that's keeping SD relevant(maybe), while RAW has many different stories going on like Judgement Day v RR and DP, Drew v Punk, FT v New Day, Gunther's next title feud, etc. I'm starting to think Triple H is prioritizing RAW and the WHC over SD. After all, it IS the title from his Reign of Terror from '02-'05. During that time period, RAW had more stories and SD had focused on matches with the SD Six. If this current booking is true, then it has to change because both world champions and both brands should be booked almost equally or at least give us something to enjoy from both brands with different cool things without subtle favoritism, IMO.
