I swear I've done this. I bump my head with a hardhat on 100x's more than I would without a hardhat. It's crazy how our brains have adjusted to be pretty accurate at moving around and not bumping our heads...yet you add another inch or so on each side by wearing a hardhat...and you bump into everything lol

@@DraconicDuelist I'm afraid a few of them might be private/unlisted or even deleted now, like the 1:38 one for example. Cody even named it "boom oil" rather than its proper name out of precaution. It's a pity that youtube went down so hard on those types of videos even without showing the full process to make things that can go boom, I think that policy claimed the gunpowder from urine series as well.

Well Electroboom does almost all of his "Accidents" on Purpose to entertain Viewers and educate about Electric Dangers. The few Times Things actually went wrong it either hurt so bad that any Reaction other than screaming would require some superhuman Pain Tolerance (e.g. dropping a Jacob's Ladder onto his Lap) or he went silent too. Purposly hurting yourself with High Voltage and staying chill like nothing is gonna happen while about to do it still requires some Balls tho.

mercury doesn't absorb through the stomach or skin very well. its very toxic but it really isn't as bad as people believe. i've even ingested mercury from a switch at a young age and suffered no effects. Mercury vapor is waaaay more easily absorbed through the lungs. that's where it really kills you. There is more fear surrounding it than logical facts.

No we did not start with the year one. There was a time where it was 0. Then .10, .20, .30, .40.... even if we broke it down to numbers you are wrong. I’ve seen a lot of people say “DeR iTs NoT a NeW dEcAdE” and it’s really starting to piss me off. All you are doing is spreading misinformation about something that should be easy to figure out with a first grade education level. Stop it, get some help.

@@itskidkelly nope, since the calendar starts counting BEFORE it was made, (made in the year 300-ish) and starts with the birth of Jesus (even if just theoretical) as the year "1", we do start at the year 1, and its not a new decade technically. But then again, its only a technicality.

Yep. Pretty much how I handle problems and mistakes as well. Stop regroup and figure out what went wrong and how to fix or do it better. I have a guy at work that will start yelling, cussing and throwing tools at the walls like a child having a fit and I just look at him and shake my head thinking "How is that going to solve your problem you dumb Sh**." :)

Unfortunately some youtube sissies false flagged it , or the crappy AI just flagged it and in one case some authorities from bureau for nuclear safety just stepped in. Nothing illegal and dangerous, if caried out propperly...but PooTube is just PooTube.

i was surprised to see him hit the rock. i've never seen him like that before. he doesn't seem like the type. i guess he didn't have a pillow to scream into. 😅😅 it's not that i don't understand it, i was like that at 15, and really did break my hand, and on a different occasion some drywall. but i really didn't expect that from cody, especially since that vid is quite recent. i guess doing youtube can be a really stressful career though, especially when the algorithm is god and you have deadlines to meet. hope he's feeling in a better place now

Here's one I've learned once and then forgotten once: Always anneal a sterling silver ring shank before clamping and soldering the end together. Work hardened ring shanks when under stress and then heated _will_ explode. Also yes, hot metal doesn't always look hot. _Always_ know where your barbed wire is. And don't hit it with your arm when cleaning debris off your pig blocking grill during irrigation when the water knocks you over. Don't torque your drill bit sideways while drilling through metal. If you do, make sure your hand isn't where you can drill into a knuckle with a broken drill bit. Oh the wonderful scars we adventurous folks have. Loved the video, Cody. Glad you're mostly ok.

@@bryanl1984 I'd bet less than my dad... guy almost lost several fingers several times in incidents involving a table saw (the same one each time btw) but always came out with all 10. you want something scary, go look at the death machine that is a table saw. anyone who works will one and values their fingers will tell you they're terrifying. you definitely don't need explosives to loose fingers, and I'd say that due to the skill ceiling involved anyone who deals with explosives is at much less risk..,.

I remember on physicsforums they'd be laying down all these warning and proscriptions about how-to-build scientific instruments involving glass tubing, high-voltages, mercury, etc. They wouldn't permit plans and directions for such things. HelI's bells, the machinery you build a DIY X-ray machine with can be far more dangerous than the X-rays. For the short time someone would actually _use_ an X-ray machine, they'll certainly be able to focus on safety, and they certainly _would_ . You get lax around a table-saw. You can't find the push-stick? Well for now just poke it along carefully... Had a friend with the missing tip of forefinger. And his workshop was festooned with wiring, electric motors, cobwebs and fine sawdust in the cobwebs. And he was a smoker. Cigarette butts all over the place...

When you wanna try out some experiment something has to go wrong and these moments really take their toll for a second. just goes to show natural philosophy is pure pain, camouflaged in curiosity and some times, just some times after pure pain there is a nugget of absolute wonder that takes all the pain away. thanks for sharing.

Cody, Thank you for posting this video!. The mistakes are very important, we both know this. Thank you for sharing so that others can learn what not to do. One of the biggest lessons is learning another way in which it will not work. Although these videos are failure's they all contributed to great success.

I don't know what is more amazing: the content of your channel, or the fact that you don't swear whenever you have a setback. I do hobby chemistry (inspired in part from your videos) and when stuff boils over or explodes, its not nearly as kid-friendly around my place. Thanks for sharing these moments, so that we hobbyists don't feel like we are the only ones that have setbacks.

Don't know, I've never seen it but it looks new so it might have been scrap. I don't think he likes to show himself being angry or sad- in fact all i've personally seen of the two aforementioned emotions were in a video he planned and this single clip.

@@apocalypticpioneers2116 been there, cut my thumb to the bone from a cracked ceramic plate that I was washing. Never again will I wash or keep a chipped plate that could develop into a crack... Expensive and painful lesson.

@@jkenny1 Thankfully I was young and had insurance that covered it, but that shit hurt so much. It cut off a nerve and any time I bumped the bottom of the cut, it would send shooting pains up the thumb. It has since healed, for a few years now, but I'm still really leary about touching it.
