20:21 I hated how in Nightmares 4-6 Freddy went from a scary character with sick, twisted dark humour to a comedy act making bad jokes for the sake of it. Wes Craven's New Nightmare made him creepy again and thankfully in Freddy vs Jason he was more like Nightmares 1-3 Freddy than 4-6 Freddy.

Cody and Dundrums are sworn enemies now, does anyone know what happened between them? I heard it was something about Dundrums ripping off Cody's content or a disagreement in politics or something like that but remember when they would give each other shout outs and now....nothing. Freddy's Dead is such a guilty pleasure of mine, same with Seed of Chucky. They're so, so bad that I get a lot of fun out of them. Also, the power glove kill definitely aged the flick hard. The NES power glove was a real thing that died about a year after debuting. It's sort of fitting that the only time it'd work would involve a psychotic dream demon 🤔.

Woo great countdown. I feel you on Aliens 3. While not awful, can’t forgive just dropping the ending to Aliens basically to pivot to the story Fincher wanted to tell. I’d argue while I can watch even the worst Aliens after that -this decision did hurt the franchise storyline. Also never even knew Lost Boys had sequels. Learn something new every day. Also totally got what you meant on The Next Generation. It didn’t add to the horror of Leatherface and it didn’t know what it wanted to be.

10:39 There's also a lot of scenes where The Creeper's running around in broad daylight which makes him a lot less scary and the whole film feels like it's building to a big fight that never comes. I don't get why it was set after Jeepers Creepers but before Jeepers Creepers 2 either.

The setup with the Detective and his history with the Creeper was the most interesting part, but went absolutely nowhere. The only possible payoff I could think of was the Detective purposefully dying so his spirit could become one with the Creeper, so he could kill it from the inside, but the movie ends without exploring any further.

Which is stupid because Jaws never had supernatural elements. It was just about a great white shark that unlike real life great whites had an appetite for human flesh and terrorised an island.

with the exception of Halloween III:Season of The Witch the problem with the Halloween sequels between 1981-2002 including the remake and it’s sequel is that they got so top heavy with the mythology lore and backstory that it took away the essence of what makes the 1978 horror classic so good

I agree, the first one is so good because it feels like it's a situation anyone could find themselves in. The main characters are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Halloween has good sequels, but none really capture that feeling.

I'm weird in that I think Resurrection is a better Halloween film than Curse of Michael Myers, but I enjoy Curse more. But there are aspects within Resurrection that I also like. Let's hear it for more Jason Takes Manhattan love. Best film of the Friday the 13th franchise. Easily. Jason X is not that bad at all. Freddy vs. Jason is the worst thing connected to both the Friday the 13th and Nightmare franchises.

I couldn't believe how bad Jason X was...I know the premise was out there...but they could have had a lot more fun with the concept....but it was just so boring and uneventful...not to mention it looked like a SyFy channel film. It does have one of the best kills of the franchise though...so I'll give it that.

I remember how I felt when I seen the Seed of chucky poster at the theater and was so excited because of the ending of Bride of chucky. I remember it being the biggest let down for any character I loved. I have a good guy doll now but not that movie. The memory is hard enough.

I’m going to be honest with you. Friday the 13 Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is my top 4 Friday films. I love it! Also I have to say Freddy’s Dead is my favorite Nightmare on Elm Street film. Lol I do agree with you about Seed of Chucky, I think it sucks. Have a nice day!

David Fincher speaks of his experience with Alien 3 with great disdain. It was his worst experience on a film he’s had. It’s a prime example of studio interference destroying what the film could have been. The final product of Alien 3 was not the Alien 3 Fincher wanted to do.
