Coffee and a Card: Spotlighting

Coffee and a Card is a Facebook Live event where I feature a simple card and encourage participants to craft along with me. I do just one card layout, but show variations on it by changing colors, stamp sets, orientation, or other slight changes.
I hope you enjoy crafting along to this replay of the FB LIVE. Visit and LIKE me at stamplorraine to stay in touch and perhaps join in live next time. I try to do these on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. (ET), but sometimes that can change.
Here is a list of the materials you will need to do this card:
* Colored Cardstock base: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", (scored at 4-1/4") and same color piece, 2" square.
* White cardstock layer 5-1/4" x 4", and 1-3/4" square.
* Stamps: flowers will work well. Medium to large blooms and leaves. Nothing tall with stems.
* Sentiment stamp
* Ink appropriate for your stamps and cardstock coordination
*Embellishments Optional
* As always, Adhesive, Paper Trimmer, Scissors.

Yes, that's another step that I will post on FB soon for another suggestion. You can present it either way...color the little square and leave the rest black and white, or do the reverse... keep the little square uncolored and color the rest! Thanks for watching and for your comment! 😊

Beautiful card but I have one question: Q. Why couldn’t we just place a red frame on the card base to highlight a certain area?

Thanks for your question. That could be a different way to have a similar effect. One thing to consider, it might be tricky adhering a thin frame unless you use adhesive sheets. (You don't want glue spilling out around the thin frame.) Also, the additional cardstock gives it more stability and dimension. Another thing you can do with this, is to color in the part in the "highlighted" square on the black and white cards, and if you do, it would be easier to do it on a separate piece of cardstock. See my Facebook Page to see an example of how I did that to the Pale Papaya card. Thanks for thinking about this!

That glue contains latex if it's the tombow brand or similar. Be aware.

It is Tombow. That's interesting. Is this a concern because some people are allergic to it? Another option would be the Stampin Seal tape with the applicator.
