Saw your solar oven attempt and I think you can reach target temperature using tires. Tire solar cooker oven and they work great. Also you can benefit from cattle panel hoop type houses. Cattle panels can be bought from tractor supply for ~$21-25 . Add chicken wire hardware and you can keep your fowl safe from hawk fox coon etc. Great for greenhouses or even shelter for man. Look at canistoga hut you might want to build that . I don't have a solar cooker but I regularly cook using the woodgas stove and a pressure cooker. Once a week I will cook a batch of beans. It last me all week. Gotten so good at it that it taste like chilli. I use bedding material from tractor supply to cook with 50lb sack from tractor supply. Here in Louisiana we have hogs , gators galore , nutria , catfish , pidgions , squrrels , and more. Hope you will barter feed for meat. Also get some cattle panels delivered to you so you can get them green houses and chicken housing. We eat a lot of turtle , squrrel , deer , catfish , snap beans out of the garden. Blackberries have been a good way to raise money.

I really have missed you. Your like a relative. Wonder what has happened? Stay safe, well and happy. I just got out of the hospital a month ago after three days, still sick for a week. Had influenzaA. Not coronavirus. Bad cough. Got a good mask to take home. My caregiver gave the flu to me. Last night I accidentally splashed bleach in my eye. Just messed me up a little. I consider myself lucky though. I'm 83, 84 in May. Love you.🐠🐟🐡

One person commented on Our Half Acre Homestead yesterday that they got up a couple days ago to find their garden had been stripped of everything that was close to being ready. There were footprints that proved it was humans not animals. Does your state prohibit private land off season hunting? Take care, be safe, and God Bless

My wife and I butchered a road kill deer a few weeks ago. We see them all the time on the roads near us. The problem is we rarely know when they were hit. The deer we got was hit right in front of our farm during the night (we heard the thud) and got it in the morning. Michigan even lets you "claim" it on line. Great source of meat at any time and you don't have to worry about breaking the law.

Many animals were hunted to near extinction in the Great Depression, poaching is wrong even if you're killing bucks and trying to do minimal damage. I'll probably happen anyway, but compare the human population difference from the 30's to now. I'm not sure the animal population has had the same exponential growth. You'd be much better off farming your meat, rabbits, hens, goats, etc. God bless you all.
