Hey, thank you for the video. I noticed that you mentioned doing this with beaver hides, so I decided to try it myself. I’ve followed it step by step so far, but am having a hard time getting that membrane off after soaking it for 10 days. Does this mean I need to soak it longer? Or are beavers just that much harder? I just don’t want to mess this hide up! Thanks.

I guess it worth to be more researched and experimented.. maybe few months is too long.. or te bag has to be airtight or it needs more fresh clean charecoal to bed added.. adding some salt and spices may help

You've given me a new goal. I hunt in Arkansas every year and I make it my mission to try something new and native to the area. Finding snakes is definitely no problem. Great video.

I am 1:34 in and I believe I have seen this video before due to the fact that I have researched the Alligator Gars hard scales as a leather for boots or a Jacket in the past before. I like the idea of armored fish leather after seeing some bass leather boots while imagining an armored leather

Thanks! My late granny believed in keeping a mason jar of this tea made in her refrigerator year-round. Now that I'm older (yet in good health to my knowledge), I think it's time to start adding it to my natural remedy collection.

I liked the video. Thanks for making it available. I just harvested 12 rabbits and saved the skins. Im going to do this. Question. Your process seams easier than the ones I watched using egg or brain coating of the skin after salting. Are the results similar?

To get an even better result, wash your de-fleshed hide in warm water and dish soap... Rinse the soap of in clean water, until there is no more dirt in the water.. Usually a couple' times should do it.. That helps to get rid of any natural oils in the skin and it also helps to break up fatty residue... That way, your 'brine' will get in there and do its work easier.... A nother benefit of washing your hides first, is that you can use your brine again and again, since it does not 'gunk up' on you... Greetings from Denmark, Scandinavia 👍
