Found you back in 2013ish when I started my coffee journey as a home barista. Your Verve milk steaming video changed everything for me! I've followed you ever since because of your unique business insight. I often hear you talking about concepts that are more common in the photography industry, things we've implemented in our own business and I just want to tell you how refreshing it is to see community over competition in another industry. I think that it's something super rare in todays society. Keep up the awesome work!

This is fantastic. It really does take the customer experience somewhere unexpected in todays mail order society. Chris, when I opened my first box from Cat & Cloud and saw the hand drawn picture and personal thank you note, I was blown away. This is something I never see elsewhere today and it already makes you guys stand way out. Keep up the amazing work you already do, and I look forward to seeing where your endless inspiration takes you. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

Be Still Cody are so rad!! They also started a small cassette-only record label! I love seeing music and coffee come together in such a genuine and organic way!

Also feature local artists! Which is dope! Great idea to use coffee as a platform for introducing people to the local art community.

I feel what you’re saying about the experience of visiting a specialty coffee shop back in early 2000’s that is hard to come by now. I miss it. Maybe quality has been coming down, as specialty becomes mass market? I would pay for a competition quality cappuccino, or some other high spec coffee experience.

Love your videos Chris. Hope you don’t get crucified by James Hoffman for your pronunciation of Cascara.

Stellar vid Chris! You mentioned wanting luxury without it feeling corny. I'm not sure what that means. What kind of attempts at an elevated experience would come across as corny to you?

Only 13 comments??? What has specialty coffee become??? How do you distinguish your brand??? Why are you even in the coffee business??? Now I know why specialty coffee has become so bourgeois and pedantic.and why blue bottle is worth 700 million dollars and why stumptown and intelli sold out to Peet’s. Chris... so happy you made this video and shared your thoughts and feelings. You are NOT alone.

That mixtape concept is hands down the most hipster thing I have ever heard.

Instead of following the leader, why can't we as coffee creators or innovators or business owners strive to do what we're doing to the fullest extent of our ability? That means supercharging every aspect of customer service, quality control, branding, human interaction, community outreach and anything and everything else you can do. I think if we were to do this, rather than following the leader, we would become leaders in our own sense.

The financial peeps are scared of poor ROI... Takes courage and risk to lead this way.

If you start small, you won’t have much to lose, but high quality will always be recognized
