Coffee Jelly ☕️

who want's some soft and jiggly coffee jelly! this is flexible recipe if you are vegan or vegetarian since I didn't use gelatin powder (but I did use condensed milk at the end but can be opted out).

Ingredients:
- 400g water
- 7.5g instant coffee powder
- 25g sugar
- 10g inaaga-A powder (vegan gelatin powder)
- 3tbs condensed milk
- a strawberry for decor
1. Combine instant coffee powder, sugar, and water. Gradually add in Inaaga-A powder while whisking to combine
2. Being the mixture to a boil and heat for around 1 minute
3. pour into a container and chill in the fridge for at least an hour
4. To remove from the container, pour/spray hot water briefly on sides of the container. Serve with condensed milk and decorate with strawberry
*you can substitute one packet of inaaga-A powder (10g) with 5.6g gelatin powder (assuming your gelatin powder can gel up 100g of liquid per 1.4g gelatin powder). Please follow the instructions as per package as you may need to bloom the gelatin powder.

First recipe I've followed, and thanks for putting in a vegan kind of powder, I'm allergic to stuff like gelatin so it's good to know there are alternatives. (Amazing dish btw)

Thank you! ☺️ yaaaa i found this at my local Japanese grocery store but by far my favourite vegan gelatin option because it results in a soft jiggly texture compared to agar agar which has more of a bite and less jiggles☺️

Thank you very much. It was simple to do. Good coffee jelly is REALLY hard to get in Taiwan unless you live in Taipei. I love it, but it always tastes awful in the teahouses here. I've watched a couple other vids and they're helpful. BTW... I'd love to see one on how to make mochi. My son loves it. I'd like to surprise him with it. I'm pretty good at Taiwanese food, especially my sour spicy soup and handmade dumplings (I love to invent my own flavors), but not snacks and desserts yet. And I'll NEVER make stinky tofu!!! When my son wants it, he can go pick it up at the night market and eat it there.

My wife just puts it in a blender with honey, but Taiwan's Longyan honey makes it taste strange. P.S. I saw the vlog of Chilliwack Sunflower farm. It makes me feel homesick. I'm originally from Vancouver, but have made a life here in Taiwan. It's great, except I can't get my wonderful Canadian desserts.

Yasss it’s flexible so add anything you want! I do recommend maybe a coconut condensed milk or sweet oat milk creamer to add the additional flavour and texture (if you want ofc) ^^

@@PearlLok where i live (italy) these products are so rare unfortunately ;-; and i’ve never liked condensed milk so... maybe i’ll lower the sugar ratio and add on top some syrup and maybe some yogurt 🍦

Oooo yeah sugar preference varies between everyone just worried it might too bitter 🥺 but yeah adding syrup on top can be adjusted and sounds like a good idea ^^

gelatin powder, agar agar, konnyaku powder or any other gelling agent would work! just follow the liquid to powder ratio as per the packing and go from there!
