Hello again! I started with your second episode and just watched this one and loved it too! Your style of talking to us and realness of conversation is so appealing to me. Please don’t try to be “proper” in your videos and just be yourself always! Thanks for your honesty and enthusiasm! I’m 72 yrs old and live in Washington state. Oh this comment warmed my heart and made me smile! I'm so glad my little video popped into your feed. Having two little ones is a lot of work but my days are full of love. I'm very blessed. Sadly I do not crochet...yet. Do you? I have some crochet hooks I inherited from my grandma. There are also a few patterns in my queue that I'd love to try someday.
@debbiestuckey65996 ай бұрын
@@coffeeknitswithsarah 🥰 Enjoy these days. They go too fast. Yes, I crochet too. I found it easier to learn at first because you have only 1 live stitch at a time. It's easier to frog back to where you made a mistake and then continue on. How special for you to have some of your grandma's crafty things! You can put them out on display, even if you don't use them. My husband and I had 4 children altogether...2 girls first and then 2 boys. Busy days. ☺️ Take care! And I hope to see you soon.

Thank you Jinny for watching all the way in the UK! I'm not a sock knitter though I do want to make them someday. I find I get easily frustrated by small circumference knitting. Is there a sock pattern that's your favorite or that you'd recommend to a beginner sock knitter?
@JuliaEdge-u6j6 ай бұрын
@@coffeeknitswithsarah I use Anne Budd’s basic recipe from Ravelry and then throw in ribbing or free patterns from Rav to do the design. The favourite ones I have are the Blueberry Waffle socks, Hermione’s Everyday socks (though I cannot stand JK Rowling), Tin Can Knits Rye socks, the Banana Socks, the Vanilla Latte socks and combinations of rib. Won’t cost you anything! Jinny

I enjoyed watching Sarah! I'm not a garment knitter but I was wondering if you could just pick up stitches on each side of the straps on your tank top, cut the middle out and then graft it together? I don't know if that makes any sense or would be just as much work as ripping back?
@coffeeknitswithsarah6 ай бұрын
Great idea! That is basically what I plan to do. The kitchener stitch that I reference in my video is a technique for invisibly grafting live stitches together.

Great job. WOW, Your first garment!?! Amazing. You have found your calling. Sorry about your yarn barf. Been there more times than I care to remember. I’ve been knitting since 2016. But I learned basic knitting when I was a very young child sometime in elementary school. I’m sure many others have experienced it as well. They key is keeping your hand and mind relaxed. No keep in your mind and arms and fingers no tugging allowed. More often than not its literally 😂one twist that gets worse because of the added tension we put on the string. Commit to going slow and doing it without emotional and physical tension. Its helpful if my husband is home because has is more patients than I have.
@coffeeknitswithsarah5 ай бұрын
Not my first garment. Just my first podcast episode. Maybe I will show the first sweater I ever knit in one of my future podcast episodes. Thank you for the advice on relaxing. I find knitting to be the most meditative and calming thing for me.
