I’m waiting on some yarn for a baby blanket, so i decided to pick up my embroidery project (a can of sardines for my best friends birthday). I used. To hate embroidery, it was so finicky and took so long but im starting to actually really enjoy it this time. I’m hoping to learn how to knit this winter, so i love watching knitting podcasts and getting inspired by beautiful projects!

Maybe you could add a elasticated crocheted boarder to the neckline and increase the lenght to match the border add a cute detail even to the hand bindoff ... use a diffrent complementary colour (maybe white ?) To your could sweater ? Or you could wear it over a tight highneck top/blouse ? Love the colours ! ❤

I love a good cumulus blouse! It looks so lovely on you! I just finished one, and I join in te round for the neckline one repeat earlier! It works great, you just have to make sure that you've got the stame stitchcount on the front and back, and just knit extra rounds with increases when you're joined in the round. I also do my neck I-cord on a smaller needle.
@morganunraveled2 ай бұрын
thank you!! sounds like you have perfected the art of the cumulus blouse haha!

The Dagmar looks so good! I’ve been learning so much about fit of knitted garments this year. I’ve struggled knowing what size to pick sometimes too as I have a smaller frame but large full bust measurement. Patty Lyons recommends that you base your sizing on the upper bust measurement, right under your arms, and that’s worked really well for me for garments with positive ease! And I’m learning about adding vertical bust darts, which are really just however many increases you need evenly placed through the space from upper bust to full bust, for pieces with less positive ease. It’s so great to be able to make clothing custom for our own bodies, like you said!
@morganunraveled3 ай бұрын
omg you have no idea how helpful this is!!! thank you so much for sharing 🥰💕
@TheStitchWitchPodcast3 ай бұрын
Definitely I also choose upper bust because I’m a heavy chested girl on a small frame. This is better for shoulder measurements, which is why chest size isn’t good if you find things come out too big. 😊

So lovely to catch-up with you as always, Morgan! If you ever knit the Anker's Summer Shirt again, or any others in the series, you can incorporate short rows into the underarm stitches after you split for sleeves. You would split for sleeves as normal casting on your underarm stitches and then instead of knitting in the round, you would work back and forth a few times into those stitches before proceeding to knit in the round.
@morganunraveled3 ай бұрын
I really wish I had! I need to do research and watch videos on how to do short rows & how many stitches they should be. I feel like I would just be making it up as I go and cause new issues haha!

I’m currently working on a lopapeysa sweater, Naavaneule by Heli Nikula. Also a double post, haha. The Vine Pullover is a beautiful classic raglan with simple cables down the sleeves for little ones, and it has a good introduction to short rows. It’s fun to do it on a mini size! It’s by an indie designer named Rountree Stitchery on Ravelry and I 10/10 recommend! My toddler LOVES hers.

Just found your channel, loved this video!! I have a hard time deciding my size with petiteknits patterns too, I feel like her sizing doesn't really take into account any curvy-ness. So I found that I should mostly just size way down to make things look good on me :)
@morganunraveled3 ай бұрын
totally valid, I feel like the more I knit the more I’m figuring out how I like certain types of garments to fit & how much ease. petiteknit loves an oversized look but on some bodies it isn’t as flattering, but we all have different bodies & different preferences for sure!

I really want to knit Salty Days! I'm just worried because I've heard people talk about how there is no short-row shaping and that can mess with how it sits. How have you found it sits when you try it on?
@morganunraveled2 ай бұрын
the salty days is a drop shoulder construction, I never have issues with the way drop shoulders sit. usually that’s more of an issue with raglans and circular yokes, is it possible you’ve heard that mentioned about her Arctic Light sweater? I’ve seen people mention that & have mentioned it myself as well haha!
