Sarah, I loved seeing your grandparent’s cottage (how beautiful!) and hearing about your memories with your grandmother. I agree that smells evoke memories so well. Please don’t apologize for showing your heart as you talked shout those memories..they are precious. I hope you are able to make special memories with your girls there as well. The sweater for your daughter is just perfect! I think you made it fade really well. I would love to see whatever you feel up to showing. I remember times with little ones and, though such precious times, they can also be exhausting times. So whatever you want to show us is fine with me. I do enjoy learning about new yarns and I wasn’t familiar with some of the yarns you mentioned that you’re knitting with. As far as your hesitation to knit a sweater with fingering weight yarn right now, at least with the Ranunculus sweater, it’s knit with size 10 needles and doesn’t require much yarn at all. And if you didn’t want to use fingering she says you can use any weight of yarn..it will, obviously affect the look of the sweater but it’s an option. I bought the pattern years ago and have yet to make one as I’m a bit intimidated by some of the instructions. But I’ve got 2 granddaughters I’d love to knit one for. I guess I just need to try, right? Lol I’m glad you’re podcasting..I’ve enjoyed both episodes and look forward to lore. Have a great week, Sarah 🌸 Suzette

Thank you Sarah for sharing your time and talents with us in your new podcast venture! You certainly are a natural at it. Love your calm, honest demeanor about your makings and your beautiful family. Your story about your knitting time with your Grandmother, the cottage, the enjoyment of time there with your extended family was so heart warming ❤️ It brought me back to living my life at the lake back in MN during my teenage years. What a gift of memories. I look forward to all the upcoming episodes, no matter the content. I’ll be watching‼️

The story of your Grandmother was heart warming. It was lovely to see the cottage and surroundings. It would be good to hear more about your Alpacas as I have recently moved house and had to rehouse our pet Alpacas. I agree with you that knitting is a slow hobby and should be enjoyed, may be think about knitting hot water bottle covers as they make good gifts. I hope doing this podcast motivates you to work on some of your hibernating patterns and yarns.

What wonderful memories for you and your family - having shared the amazing cottage of your grandparents. We grew up with my grandparents having a beach house on the kapitit coast of North Island (Te Horo) - we have lots of fun memories from there too and I often wished it could have been kept for future generations.

I really enjoyed hearing about your Grandmother teaching you how to knit. We all have that touch stone moment that brings tears. It connects us. I would like to hear about your family’s alpaca farm. I took in 5 alpacas when a friend had some health problems and I’m interested in learning more about your farm. I love our alpacas, we had a surprise baby and that made us even more connected with them. The visit at your Grandparents Lake house was wonderful! It’s beautiful there! My sister lives on the other side of Michigan ~ it’s really heaven on earth! Except for the humidity & those flying bugs that bite! Ha! And maybe the winters!

And boy I wish I had a cottage to go to like yours how relaxing thank you so much for the pictures and the sound even! As for the future videos, yes to seeing previous finishes and yarn stashes! and asked for future plans the ranunculus can be knitted in any weight. I think you should do your video however you want to do it. You are doing great. Quite happy with just hearing what you’re working on and your want to makes, what kinds of yarns you like to use. Solely your choice. A lot of people are making the Ranunculus in double fingering, I think as opposed to fingering. Hats are definitely great knits for gifts, slippers too. Shawls are a nice gift too. It all depends on sizing. I only make shawlettes and there are lots of those and they knit up quickly too. I could give a few names if you were interested in just shawlettes sizing. Here are a few: Close to You; To The Sea; Quaker Yarn Stretcher; Play Date; Pirates Cove; Winter Sunrise and Canyon Dawning.
