@AbruptAvalanche2 жыл бұрын
People buying crypto as an investment isn't a ponzi scheme. There isn't any central figure lying about the returns you're getting. If you buy Bitcoin, you can always sell at whatever it currently trades at, just like any stock. It still might be a really bad investment though, don't get me wrong. An example of a real ponzi would be the crypto lending platform Celsius (maybe FTX as well, idk how that one worked). You put money into it, and it says you'll earn a certain yield. You check your balance and the number does go up over time, but behind the scenes, the money isn't actually all there. They've promised more money than they're generating, and the scheme only survives as long as people are putting in significantly more money than others are taking out.

The US dollar and investing in stocks is also a Ponzi scheme where people with insider info intentionally manipulate markets into cycles as well though. Gold is a Ponzi scheme too, I get what you’re saying but bitcoin is pretty awesome and could outlive the usd. The only real ponzis are carpet pulls in shitcoins or terrible stocks imo, since most people use stocks and crypto to get more money, they intentionally want crashes to buy more, so it’s a meta market that exists outside of the fundamentals of whatever is being invested in anyways.

@AJSHOPE2 жыл бұрын
I definitely understand the difference between Bitcoin and things like it and these other random crypto currencies (even Ethereum). I'm still not sold on Bitcoin because even with its difference, it's still 100 percent trackable. For wanting decentralization a central entity would essentially have the power to know absolutely every transaction ever made without need of any sort of warrants or anything because as the saying goes "The blockchain never lies".
@zinzander29782 жыл бұрын
Ironically the decentralised unregulated nature is why so many people get scammed and lose their money and also why there are wild market swings. Their are good reasons centralisation and regulation came about. Their are some nefarious reasons but most of it was to reduce the amount of grifts scams and I’ll practice you see in the market. Ie regular financial markets used to look exactly like crypto markets do today
@juliansoto26512 жыл бұрын
@@AJSHOPE Bitcoin can be almost 100% anonymous already. Taproot, SegWit combined with TOR over the Lightning Network allows that. If you want anonymous Bitcoin transactions you should be willing to pay a higher fee on the LN, rather than direct settles on the blockchain.

In my opinion what makes bitcoin different than all the rest of the “crypto” scams is that it is decentralized, actually truly immutable, open source, was free and open for anyone to run before satoshi did it had almost an immaculate conception unlike anything else in history except nature itself. Nobody can stop you from spending it, from mining it, or running a node, a node is the entire copy of the blockchain from its inception my node runs so that I can verify that the bitcoin I get is legitimate. I use bitcoin I don’t sell bitcoin. There is a fundamental difference in that. The price of bitcoin doesn’t matter because I don’t value the dollar. Bitcoin is freedom money it has changed my life. I didn’t get in super early like your probably thinking I bought all the way up to 69k and all the way down to 15k. Im thrilled that bitcoin didn’t shoot to 350k like people predicted it would. I don’t have enough yet. I have a certain number of sats in mind I wanna stack and I’m not there yet. With bitcoin being finite and what our government considers money infinite there is no other choice. These are some of my thoughts on bitcoin. #onlybitcoin

Bitcoin is the first anti-inflationary currency. The only way to do it was by taking out the middleman. The middleman just happens to be the government. That's not what a government is for, but they have accepted their fate as controllers of the money supply as inevitable on one side(left-wing) and by choice on the other(right-wing). So that's why the dollar must become something different and they must learn that they are no longer needed in their ill begotten niche as well. Until then, it's just their puppet and also a convenient illusion.

Here's the issue with digital currencies revolutionizing global digital exchange. I don't think it'll happen. It's not because of technology. Not all financial systems are equal. If you've ever sent money from US and Japan, you'd see the difference. It is a complete pain in the ass to transfer money from Japan to the outside world. In north america it takes a few minutes. This is because some countries restrict the amount of money you can exchange. If they make it freely exchangeable, money will leave weak financial system for stronger ones. Capital flight. If you've ever been outbid on a house by a Chinese person for 20% over the market value, you've seen this in action. They are okay with getting 80 cents on the dollar as long as they can get the money out of the country. Now make this financial transaction free and available. This will make the yuan crash look like safemoon. That's why countries won't let it happen.

Tunny the only use case I ever thought was worth anything was the utility of crypto in the developing world. No need to have a bank account, just a phone and you can do commerce. Plus you don't have to deal with your nation's currency issues (if they're having some).

Parasites, surviving on the good name of Bitcoin. "I love Bitcoin! Buy x altcoin!" Meanwhile Bitcoin has no issuer or IPO, and can't be shut down. That's why it is the ONLY digital commodity, like gold, wheat, oil etc. Literally everything which people call an altcoin are actually shares issued by software companies, but without the regulation - and thus presentation of coin/share ownership and insider trading/manipulation. Why doesn't Vitalik want to register ETH as a security? What does he have to hide?? Why can't people spot the s**t on the wall until it's too late.

No, pal. You don't understand bitcoin. Bitcoin is a kind of crytpo. It is a thing that can be used as a transaction, but so does countless other things. What separate bitcoin from dogecoin? Nothing, dogecoin copies the same underlying algorithm of bitcoin. It is not valuable or revolutionary just because you believe it is. It creates nothing, and it can easily be copied.

It’s unavoidable. Question is do you want a central bank digital currency with incredibly high surveillance, censorship, absolute control by centralised entities and infinite supply or Bitcoin with privacy features, the strongest censorship resistance, decentralisation and finite supply.

@@tomdillinger4263 their is no privacy with Bitcoin. Its a open ledger. Cash is King
@tomdillinger42632 жыл бұрын
@@maximusdecimusmeridius5438 yes, there is. Bitcoin is pseudonymous. You can also utilise coinjoins and there is increased privacy on the lightning network. An open ledger does equate to tyrannical levels of surveillance as it does with CBDCs. Bitcoin is king. Your fiat cash is in an unavoidable debt spiral and inherently infused with inflation and monetary policy manipulation. Try holding cash for 10+ years and see how much purchasing power you lose. Bitcoin beats everything when you measure it against other assets in terms of values of a sound money.

Bitcoin, not crypto. Nothing else is as decentralized and secure.
