To those of you who enjoyed Think and Grow Rich, and this is unwelcome news... Understand that you can enjoy the book and get something out of it the bits about “positive thinking and goal setting”, without following in Hill’s footsteps. Being aware of the limitations of the book is important. The man was a documented con-man during his life. This is a fact. He was also broke most of his life and plagued by his actions. This is also a fact. But you still can know all of those things and take something away from his book positively. 🤔 Thanks for watching!

My overall take from books from N. Hill, Earl Nightingale, Dale Carnagie etc. is adjust your attitude. When you improve your attitude life becomes easier and good things will naturally come with your attitude adjustment. Don't take a lot of the advice literally: just think and things change. Earl Nightingale once said "one's reality is the mirror of one's mental attitude". Many good things have come from books like this, despite the less than perfect characters of the authors. Books like this have immensely improved my life, and no, I don't define success as being "rich", but in terms of significantly reducing stress in my life, getting along with my spouse, taking pride in my work etc. ALL from an attitude adjustment, which books like this encourage.

R ES, what success did you achieve? I read Hill's stuff. He is only one of many people I learn from. It is not realistic at all, to think that learning from one person is all is needed to know. Unfortunately, mentors seem to get people to believe that you only need to read their stuff. I have found it is much better to learn from many people. I am a reader of Napoleon Hill. As you can see from this video, some people do not like him. I was also irritated with him. But then, we can all agree, that Hill, was a successful writer and motivational speaker. There is a speech on here that Hill does, have a look. If he is what this video says he is, I do not know how he was able to make people at the time to believe he advised presidents, met Carnegie. He even received an honorary doctorate degree. How was it able to pull all that off?? After watching more of this video, I think it tells me more that you can't just listen or learn from one mentor. lol. But again, Hill was a successful writer. He was still bringing books out in his eighties.

One of the best bits self help advice is... "You get the job you are doing already". Meaning apply yourself as much as you can now to what you really want to be doing. Example: straight out of school at 16 I got a job in electronics, with no qualifications, because I had already built my own amplifier. They were very impressed with that at the interview. I didnt bother to tell them the amplifier didn't actually work.... But I was keen so I got really good at the job... Eventually I got into computing using the same principle...

i read and have been deeply influenced by Think and Grow Rich and only tonight found out Napoleon HIll was a con man. Just like that, it explained quite a few mistakes I have made in life based on his writings. And I am amazed that it never in occurred to me to doubt his authenticity. I have recommended the book. I have told people he knew Andrew Carnegie. I've been wrong all these years.

@@la_da_kid it's a great book. All this video did was attempt to discredit the author by talking about his past. His past has nothing to do with the content of his book. He is a con man but his words are very helpful. Even Bruce Lee said the man spoke some truth

This book helped me get rich. It’s literally the number one book I recommend to others who want to get rich too. Whether or not it works is completely independent of whether or not you think the writer was a good person. That seems pretty obvious to me.

You could have success but definitely not because of this book
@LionElAton3 жыл бұрын
@@HyperDangerousThing I did what the book said, and now I’m successful. What are you talking about? Haha. I think people try to use everything they can find as an excuse not to do things. There’s a book sitting there you can buy for a few dollars or listen to for free on KZbin that rich people all over the world are saying helped them become rich, and people are so dumb they’d rather just find every reason to assume it doesn’t work to make themselves feel better about the fact that they’re just too afraid of failing to even try.

@@LionElAton Is the comment above yours accurate? "The best summary I ever heard of Napoleon Hills teaching is this: "A dream written down becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by actions becomes reality.""
@LionElAton3 жыл бұрын
@@bornkinggamer3347 Yes and no. That explains the concept, but it doesn’t explain how to do it, which is the entire point. The method. Just listen to Think and Grow Rich on KZbin. The recorded version is less than an hour. I’ve never met someone who’s done what it says and failed, I’ll just say that. I have met plenty of people who just didn’t do it though, which I don’t understand. All of the poor people in these comments have the exact same problem. To be honest, the basis of "Think Rich, Grow Rich" is spot on and exactly on point. How would i know? I read that book decades ago, took the main point of "think rich, grow rich" (sans the religious BS) to heart ... well, i've done better than i imagined i would do financially :) When i read it i was not just completely broke but bankrupt with debt collectors on my ass and unemployed, with zero serious prospects. My take away from that was basically to think that you make it, act like it, and keep thinking big enough.

Indeed - Coffeezilla is a smart marketer. Go for the biggest and most influential self-help book in history. What happens next, lots of traffic and advertisement revenue filling his pocket. He should go after the Secret and The Millionaire Next Door next. Big traffic drivers.

That book changed my life, the lessons that are in it were very helpful. Also I believe being poor is a mindset. But it takes a few months or years to really get to the point where you level up and become as valuable to attract money. It's no short story to explain why it works, but it helped a lot of people with becoming successful with their own life's work.

Great example of how "one false" information, on the internet is blindly taken by other internet users as "true", and then they spread it and create other contents using that false information. valla! down the line people will believe it is true. kinda like this quote: Jesus said: "love one another as you love yourself; even your online neighbor deserves a 'like.'"

The law of attraction and all that stuff, as well as the secret, was not started with Think and Grow Rich. These ideas have been around for a long time. For starters you can look at the 1906 book: “Thought Vibration: The Law of Attraction in the Thought World.” by William Walker Atkinson.
