I always kinda knew that most of the people around me either bribed their way to that position or faked thier qualification, I mean they were not even able to do basic tasks, totally incompetent and it pissed me off. I entered college with big dreams and thought that finally I get to learn what I always wanted. In the first lecture of the week the professor teaching us was solving an equation, the guy was completely clueless and didn't know what he was doing and at one point divided zero by zero and wrote 1 as the answer. My world was shattered that day, I wasted all my money for this. We reported that teacher to the chairman of the college and no action was taken. And I realised that college are not some holy church of knowledge but a buisness, they always find ways to extort money and don't care about the education. So, I dipped out of that bullshitery and decided to self-study from online classes.

I think that's more so due to nepotism than fake degrees. Have fake degrees can get someone a job, but getting a management position while unqualified requires connections. Having connections means you don't even have to worry about getting a fake degree.
@arielhenrikson10074 жыл бұрын
What’s infuriating about this is how it cheapens quality degrees from these countries that were earned. I always thought Western countries not recognizing those degrees was about standardization, but I didn’t realize that this was partially due to people having fake degrees. I know so many people whose parents (doctors, lawyers, engineers etc.) had real degrees and had to re-enter school in a new country and foreign language because of this.

Let me put you into perspective the difference between a true degree holder and the "cheap" ones. My brother's boss had a blood vessel burst in his brain. Doctors diagnosed he will be disabled from the neck down for the rest of his life. His two sons are doctors in Ireland. They both took over the case and directed the treatment over the phone as they travel back to our homeland and proceeded to personally care for their father. He is now a healthy man without any disability at all. Though now he never work overtime anymore. Life is too precious to waste on just work. Imagine what paradise we all could live in if everyone are true professional. How many lives could have been saved... people need not be widowed, orphaned or see their children die before their parents. Greed made human worse than animals.

@JonesP774 жыл бұрын
I cant believe this, or perhaps rather its very hard for me to believe this, that such people really exist, at least in a western first world country. How can you fake being a doctor every day? You have no idea what you should do most of the time or you probaply hurt and even not rarely kill someone. I couldnt do it for even just one hour, i would be exposed immediately. How can they stay in a clinic without being exposed immediately? Let alone for weeks, months or even years. Every nurse should be able to see immediately that there is a charlatan at work. I don't want to say that this doesn't exist, but that such a hoax can really work is simply incomprehensible to me and really hard to believe!

@@JonesP77 In the United States, you need a license to practice medicine. Having a doctoral degree is not enough. In order to get a license, you need to pass an exam for the state you will be practicing medicine in. Each state requires separate licensing. And the license must be renewed every few years and doctors have to get continuing education. So it is EXTREMELY difficult to fake being a doctor in a hospital. I work in a hospital, I have never seen a fake doctor. I have heard of some stories of a kid who tried impersonating a doctor, but he was caught and jailed. It's a serious offense to impersonate a doctor. Not to mention medical fraud, which is a whole nother subject.

Shit like this is why legit graduates from those Asian countries get shit on. It ruins it for the rest of us. My father graduated from the best university of his country, graduated with two degrees, and was the top 3 in his class. But when he joined the US military, even though he was a legit educated man, they had him started by mopping the floor of the ship. He practiced his English everyday from youth to adult, he straight up sounds American, he’s bilingual and fluent in two languages, Tagalog and English, he graduated with a degree in philosophy and mechanical engineering, and it took him ten years before he could qualify as an enlisted officer in the navy. Because he was brown, and Filipino, he started out as unlisted and was not guaranteed US citizenship for servicing the US military. But he fucking worked hard anyway to get his citizenship, become an enlisted officer and provide for his family, and I will forever respect my father for that! He’s a fucking badass and tough motherfucker! With that said, I say strongly, that not all Asians and brown people are frauds, but it’s the actions of cheaters that ruin it for people who busted their asses to get their degree legitimately. Something needs to change, this isn’t right!

The reason people have to do exams when they immigrate instead of the UK trusting their degrees ISN'T just fear of fake degrees. It's because training in real universities can be completely useless - in general, medical training around the world is terrible, so many countries require immigrants to re-qualify.

Considering that I've dumped years of my life into obtaining those pieces of paper, the idea of a fake degree carrying any weight at all infuriates me to a level that cannot be easily expressed. Looking at it this way, those degrees that I'm fighting to hard to reach, are being devalued by idiots who seek an extra buck, which drives up the qualification bar to get into any reasonable job.

I followed this fellow Loy Machedo a few years ago. He was promoting himself as motivational speaker and trainer. His face was tattooed by then so it must be after this incident that he's talking about. We were looking for a corporate motivational speaker and tbh he came across as extremely sketchy that time. He had a bunch of degrees to quote but his personality and knowledge left a lot to be desired. We skipped him right away. Maybe something flipped in him in the recent years or something but it was kinda obvious to us that he was faking it.

In the past you'd only ever hear the stories of people who've already had their lives destroyed by stuff like this, people who already stepped off the ledge. Or even worse, you hear the stories of people retold by their friends and their family of what happened because they cant tell you themselves as they have already hit the bottom and weren't able to break the fall. Its more effective to reach people in situations like these, before they take the last step, than it is to try and warn them during free fall.
