Twine is really great for that choose your own adventure game/story stuff. If you put the time in you can add a lot of custom styling and interactivity with CSS as well.

Have you took a look at Autumn's Journey? It's a really pretty looking, but slow start Otome that I've been playing for the past couple of hours. I've gotten to chap 4 before giving myself a break and, so far, there's a lot of reading and not enough choosing. Well, as far as I've gotten to anyways.

There's a program called "Freemind" that makes mind maps really easily for you and you can autosort it into a tree diagram that's easy to see. It won't be pretty but it'll be functional.

I've started using this app called Ulysses III, and I've never used a writing app before, and all the small shortcut commands confuse me... and I'm probably never going to use them anyway, so I really don't even know why I'm using the thing. What I need is an app with alerts that 1. reminds me to write daily and 2. yells at me when I delete a hefty chunk of text.

On a completely unrelated note, I wanted to ask: Why does Dodger let her hair become that greasy? I understand that washing ones hair everyday damages it, and ultimately lets it become more greasy faster, but it seems uncomfortable to "wear" how she has it on the vid. I'm just curious if there's any specific reason, besides that the she feels comfortable with it.

I don't think it's really greasy, she seems to have relatively fine hair and which tends to get oily quickly quite fast, for all we know she could have taken a shower yesterday and chose not to have one today. Also, I'm going to do NaNoWriMo...next year. I'm not lazy it's just it's the fourth already, I have no ideas and would want to plan it out at least somewhat before beginning it. I'd probably end up destroying myself over it, seeing as I'm a massive perfectionist. Also isn't a choose your own adventure kinda cheaty? I don't know if that's the right way to put it, but it seems like a way to try to get around having to come up with a story long enough to fill 50k words "just make like 5 that are shorter! Or why not 10? Or 15?" I don't know, maybe I just don't like choose your own adventure novels in concept...

"I'm not a writer" Everyone's a writer, you're not an author no, but you can, do (I'm guessing to a greater or lesser extent) and will continue to write. Everyone can write something good, you've just got to put in the effort.

From what I've learned in doing NaNoWriMo myself is that it's more about getting the creative juices flowing and/or getting a good start/middle/end done on what you want to do than a strict 'write a novel/continue a current one'. She's simply taking on something that will keep her interested throughout the month, and I personally don't see anything wrong with that. Besides, a choose your own adventure is very much one story, it's just one story that has several timelines going on based on your choices, not hundreds of little stories. It's one of the best writing exercises you can do to work on your continuity skills and creativity. I'm definitely considering doing this myself next year. :) Side note: A trick I've found for just getting your ideas out is to write with pen on paper at first to get yourself in the habit. You can't edit as much, and it's really helped me move on to being a little less of a perfectionist.
