Sapolsky's entire premise preassumes material reality as fundamental, which physics has effectively debunked for a long while now. Sapolsky isn't even wrong, he's irrelevant from the get-go.

We, conciousness, are observing our human bodies systems but those bodies are evolving with nothing more than causality and physics. I feel that us, conciousness, are local expresssions of totality.

You might want to start with Vervaeke's Meaning Crisis series. They're not deliberately introducing jargon to obfuscate; in fact it's the opposite. All three of these researchers have to continually bump up against the limitations of everyday language in order to accurately model their evolving understanding. It's absolutely frustrating coming at this without the requisite philosophical and scientific background, but worth it, in my opinion. Your mileage may vary.
