Hi Cognito! Quick question so, If you have a question like x^2 -10x + 18 1. You find a, b, c. 2. You do the (x + b/2)^2 - (b/2)^2 to get the (x + p)^2 + q form 3. THEN, With the (x + p)^2 + q form with a = 0 at the end you rearrange the equation to get x by itself. 4. Then you are left with 2 possible solutions. Is that correct?

I have a question, for the last example, how come we don't leave the square root over the 1? Cause if u do so it gives u a different answer from if u just opt for the 1 without the square root on it.

Take the coefficient common and then use the same trick to solve. Like 2x^2+10x+12 take 2 common and get x^2+5x+6 and shift 2 to 0 side and it disappears

Because x^2-10x+18 goes to (x-5)^2-(-5)^2+18. Simplify this but (x-5)^2 stays the same. - 5^2 =25 including the other minus leads to -25, - 25+18= -7. Final equation is (x-5)^2-7. Hopes this helps and sorry im late.
