I love this. Please continue the series with all kinds of aspects, as the game itself is pretty bad in explaining this stuff to new players and it actually has rather complex mechanics. I would like to see a video about ground attacking, salvaging/destroying team weapons, doormining/tripwiring, popcap abuse, zeroing artillery and munition bank, chaining normal shots into incendiary/stunning shot (sniper/puma/pak) to increase dps or ensure wipes and stuff like that.

+canertwo I have been working pretty hard on these tutorials but this was like 20 hours work for likely less than $2 KZbin in ad revenue. I don't want to sound like I'm doing it all for the money but it's tough man

I can understand that. Just wanted to say that I appreciate your content and would like to see more of it.

I just picked up CoH2 from Steam when it was free and I really appreciate these videos! They’re well done and very informative to new players like me!

I appreciate this!! Couldnt find anything more in depth and animated. I mean Ive had the game since release....but i needed guidance on exact mechanics and modifiers. Ill be using a similar system in a game im creating in UE4.

does it make a difference if the cover is very high, so u only see like the head, is cover always cover? Like a wreck from a tiger or so, which is bigger than a wreck from a kubelwagen. Both green cover. Or a dead cow compared to a a closed wooden fence?
@tightropegaming6 жыл бұрын
No the height doesn't matter to my knowledge, though perhaps there could be some heavy cover that is low enough that tank shots could scatter over it (see starter series on vehicle mechanics) The thickness of heavy cover can matter against tank shells. When the tank shell collides with thin heavy cover like a wall, the AOE can still reach the squad on the other side, whereas on thick heavy cover like length-ways on a tank wreck, the AOE isn't big enough to reach the squad.

Very interesting, thank you! You are doing awsome videos, helping a lot! Its seems to be very important to know and understand how the gamemechanic works^^ So the projectiles you see in the game know where they are going to land they got fired away? Because if more of the body is exposed in a smaller green cover, the same shots that would not hit you if standing in taller cover would not be allowed to hit you when standing in smaller cover. So if all factors and rng is equal in both the situation standing in small and taller cover, the shots that would have hit you, if there was no like stone wall protecting your knee, must go somewhere else, like in the ground for example?^^

Correction: while i don't have the time to look for each weapon value and heavy/light cover SHOULD work equally across the board, different weapons have different profiles against cover. This is mostly an advise for your next vid. Regarding water: flamethrowers also have a 0.2 accuracy modifier. MOST Rifles/Carbines (mosin, Kar, SVT, G43) do not get a 1.5 accuracy in comparison to other weapons (MOST SMGs or Assault Rifles). STG Vampir: has the quality that practically ignores accuracy modifiers from cover including garrison.

+elchino7 I don't understand what you are trying to say in the first sentence. At the end of the day there is only so much detail I can put in the video without going overboard. People can learn about things like the IR STG in their own time.

+tightrope gaming i worded it badly. The correction is for the water part. What i tried to say, is that be wary that since you will be covering garrison and other type of covers, that the whole system is really a mess. Ex: Pio Mp40 are a bit worst that most weapons at clearing garrisons, but excel at clearing trenches. Mp44 from PG are also good but Mp44 from SP do not. Same with grenades and indirect fire.
@tightropegaming8 жыл бұрын
+elchino7 Really? I did some tests and it looks like the British trench provides garrison cover but the Axis trench provides heavy cover. I guess I'll have to look at a few different weapons see what is going on.
@elchino78 жыл бұрын
I guess i'll have to ask to the guru stats what types of cover are really been used.

isnt light cover omnidirectional?
@Marcus23898 жыл бұрын
+Francis Burns Yeah it should be omnidirection afaik.
@tightropegaming8 жыл бұрын
+Marcus2389 I didn't create a mod to test it (I have broken open the mod tools but I'm still a bit noob with them) but I did run some timed tests behind and in front of light cover and accounted for the width of the cover to keep the range the same. In front died almost exactly 2x as quick every time, which was good enough for me. Remember light cover from craters is omnidirectional though.

+tightrope gaming Dear god, it means that fences and bushes give directional light cover!

+Nikolaus Haffner Yeah I'm aiming to bring players up to an advanced (but not expert) level of knowledge. I feel like others had covered the basics but for players wanting more knowledge from there didn't have a good option. I too hope it helps expand the playerbase.

+tightrope gaming actualy now thinking of it again, if I am utterly honest, I didnt know that a grenade would do only half damage when lobed over cover. I thought it as simple as, explosion on the same side as squad, full dmg, on the opposite side, reduced. So if you cant fully clear the explosion in time its better to leave the squad in green cover and suck it up then to run and take full or 99-51 % damage. I learned something 😊 then again... micro never realy was my strongest of suits. More makro
