Yes, V sync automatically selected by autodetect kept my avg FPS at around 46, and turning it off got it up to 56 avg FPS, on a 60hz monitor. I never would have thought to change it.

I'd also recommend turning off physics. This means when you shoot at a log of piles with a tank you won't have flying logs everywhere, which could also be mistaken for yellow cover. Other thing for any gaming I'd recommend disabling "Enhance pointer precision" from Windows mouse settings, since this means Windows is trying to guess where you move your mouse, and just results in input lag. Personal differences on this video from me are classic hotkeys. Everything on low/off in graphics (besides anti-aliasing) to give max fps and visual clarity. I also don't use borderless windowed for performance. A great video as always Tightrope!

I use back button on mouse to move the camera. I binding short-keys with Mouse software. It is much more easy and practical when moving screen. You do not lose any coordination or time and it is also much more accurate to positioning.

I just got the game yesterday and looked through the settings but I don't have all those options in graphics setting. All I have is the Full Screen Brightness and HUD Scale and Unit Oclusion. Can someone help me with this? Thank you. Isn't it a bit annoying how you have to go through the Steam settings to play this in a "Full Screen Windowed" mode instead of doing it all in the in game graphics settings?

Can we disable the team colors ? You know the Blue/Gold/Red colors that are in the vehicules and such ? i find them ugly and the nice White stripes on the vehicules without the colors are awsome !

how can i reset configuration of COH2. I start the COH2, : - show a screen , listen a music butr not appear the menu but de mouse yes make reaction of a menu that I can´t look.. This can happen if you have a high refresh rate monitor. Write -refresh144 in the steam launch options.

@@tightropegaming I try change 240 Mhz to 60 Mhz in configuration of winodws, but continuos thuis behauvior( launche the program, screen permanently "company of heores 2" sound the sega trailer, sound end of the pressentaation, sound th music menu but dont change the imagen, and dont change to espace menu of COH2). iNIn steam options dont found q¡where put other refresh , i did in configuration of screen in windows 10 . I suppose you could try turning down the resolution though it might make it look quite bad and turn physics off. Also running in fullscreen rather than windowed is generally a little bit faster. That is also a pretty old laptop so might be worth checking it isn't clogged with dust.

Yo, Tightrope, very helpful videos, these last two. May I make a request, though? You needn't heed it, but it's just something I would find very helpful. It's about keybinds and key shortcuts. I've been struggling to learn keyboard shortcuts, because there are just so many and I would appreciate if you could point out ones that are super useful, used by everyone, all the time. You touched upon that a bit in this video, but I'd appreciate some more of it.

Try learn all the commonly used ones involved in unit control like attack, stop, prioritize vehicles, panzerfaust, grenade etc since speed matters when it comes to activating them. For the UI stuff like starting to make a tank you can just click on those in the UI since speed doesn't really matter. The key is to force yourself to use them, much like many skills in this game, it will be painful and might even result in a couple losses but eventually your game will be stronger because of it. I still try to add to my skills and often it leads to a feeling of overload during a match but then later I catch myself doing something I would never have done before thanks to my practice and it felt easy.

Hey Tightrope! I hope you have some advice on my issue because I cannot for the life of me figure out the problem. I bought a new mouse where I can customize buttons like you did. I bound 0 to the same button on my mouse as you (on the left side). The problem is that it doesnt work in coh2. If i am on chrome and click it then 0 comes up. But in game it just does nothing. Do you know why this is? Surely there is just a setting i am missing. I have tried toggling classic hotkeys off and on etc. Thanks for the help!

window fullwindow lockmouse turns on dx9, otherwise you will use dx10 and it's not optimized for dx10. Also DX11 is very similar to dx 9. While dx 10 is similar to dx12

Oh my god finally, custom aesthetics why didn't I see this on those forum threads where people ask how to remove downloaded mods. I've been going trough hell deleting those things for ages now and it was this simple. Also not sure if I can make the switch to new hotkeys at this point. I'm almost adapted to first letter of the name now, which still results in some errors like typing M for medics in the bunker while it's actually H so might be worth the switch eventually. Also with the background music, it gave me a copyright strike for using some opera music lol... Good tips even for non new players like me apparently D:

Could you maybe please do a tutorial of some sort or go over what to do when the other teams spams armour,mortars,mgs. having a difficult time against players that lose the entire game and then come guns out blazing with 8 tanks destroying everything in its path and there is nothing i or my team mates can do about it resulting in losing a game with them sitting on a remaining 13 points.

such bad general advice. Id argue against 90% of everything you say here. These arent tips,these are your preferences and things youve heard from others that you are regurgitating. Like why the hell would you say vsync causes the game to run crap? i literally just locks your refresh rate and eliminates tearing,also keeping your GPU running cooler. Good god,like everyone on the internet when they talk about vsync, shows how sheep like the community is.

I actually did extensive testing on my old system kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKW1m2OVobGaiqM V-sync caused a roughly 5% drop in framerate. On top of that it simply felt worse. That is exactly what this video is MY RECOMMENDED SETTINGS. Honed over years of playing and often most of the pro players share the same settings. If you disagree with 90% of them you are probably a noob.
