5 years have passed since the removal of Article 370 in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir (on Aug 5 2019). Yet this Indian state and now defunct legislation continues to be a point of fervent discussion on western campuses, social justice warriors and some policy makers. Let’s delve deeper and address common questions. Why was it removed? What was the status of Dalits, women and minority faiths/sects in J&K prior to the removal? How has life changed since? Kashmiriat is same as Bhai chara in India. These people have to be brave and accept that their was wrong doing against one particular community just because of following one particular faith. They got killed because they were all aiming to get separated from India and we got killed just because of our faith
