As a 20 something.. (mid-late 1980's) ..I wrote a fan letter from the states to Coil... I received back a clear vinyl Horse Rotorvator album.. (for free) ..with the sticker. Sent the sticker to a bud in California from my Pittsburgh residence.. He was a writer/photographer in BMX PLUS magazine, he put the b&w Horse Rotorvator sticker design, in this popular.. (at that time) ..nationwide magazine. Been a fan since.

I'm seriously obsessed with this band. For me there is no other band in the world, no artist, who triggers me in in the variety of ways, that Coil does. Sometimes I can't believe what incredibly good sounds they created. And then the lyrics...damn.. I'm so grateful for everything they have done. Their music means the world to me.

For the uninitiated, Coil put out music in phases. Early Coil (Scatology, Horse Rotorvator, ZosKia and the New Blockaders) was very Industrial. Phase two, highlighted by LSD, was the acid house music. And starting with MTPITD #1, they moved on to Moon Musick. Certainly there were other sounds, a highlight being the best drone album ever in Time Machines. Though the acid house is perceived as their apex, I actually prefer both endpoints.
