Thanks Nenad, the best test yet on the new coils, I've got the Detech coil 14" i will give it ago tomorrow, but going by your test I think I am happy with what i purchased.

My detect 15" DD is remarkably sensitive. I have used twice now. Can't wait to get out again.
@diggingwithphasetech2 жыл бұрын
Yes it sure is a very sensitive DD coil

awesome video thank you very much for taking the time to put it together. I would love to see the same video done on a older machine like a SD2100. anyway thanks again!

great comparison nenad, the 15dd sensitivity is a real surprise could be the savior for alot of the older sd/gp series detectors!
@diggingwithphasetech9 жыл бұрын
+Outdoorsaustralia Yes, it seems to have more sensitivity in the DD mode, compared to older DD's in Mono mode. So you can benefit from the extra ground cancelling that a DD coil offers while still pinging the smaller bits.

Its great to see how other coils work on the 5000, but I really would love to see them compared to the factory supplied coils ... are these additional coils better ???? .. anyway thanks for the presentation Nenad.

The main difference is the type of field produced by a bundle wound coil vs. a flat/spiral wound coil. The flat wound coils field is "denser" is the best way to describe it. So size for size comparison, the flat winds do better on odd shape gold, flat thin pieces, or bits that have lots of texture etc. On normal lumpy gold, you get a clearer/crisper signal response. The one drawback is you can get more false signals, but this is only in really bad mineralisation. So pays to have a DD, Concentric, or normal bundle wound mono in the kit.

Gday Nenad. Could you do a comparison that includes the minelab coils? Commander 15x12 is my preferred coil. Very underrated in my opinion. Great vid mate. :)
@diggingwithphasetech7 жыл бұрын
The 15x12 is an excellent mono for hot ground. It handles pretty much anything you can throw at it. It is an excellent all-rounder, but in 80% of areas, the spiral winds will ping smaller bits at better depth, and a much sharper response all-round. Many operators made the mistake of getting rid of all their standard wound coils.

Real good vid well done, What i would like to know next is how does the Detech 15'' ultimate spiral go in high mineralized ground as both my 14'' coiltek and nugget finder 12'' evo suffer,
@diggingwithphasetech7 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, it's not just the coil that dictates performance, but the coil and timing combo. I think it is quite hard to beat the smooth running of a standard litz wound mono coil like the 15x12" Commander or 15x10" Detech using Sens Smooth timing. But, depth on larger targets will be sacrificed. The purpose of the 15" DD Spiral is to be able to get the advantages of DD coils, in a modern configuration that doesn't sacrifice much performance. If you are trying to run a mono coil in Normal or Sensitive Extra (sometimes referred to as the "full depth" timings) and are having trouble with ground noise, then you will have better luck with the 15" DD Ultimate. Cheers

Although interesting, I don't think it's valid to use same settings for all. Coils have different requirements. I liked choice of nugget weights and depths. What I would like to see is same test but in Normal mode, with Rx at the max ground allows (1 or 2 perhaps).
@diggingwithphasetech2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, even what you see there took a long time, and doing optimised settings for each coil was just not practical. All the flat wound coils can't run in normal timing in most goldfield soils, just way too many false signals, so no real point demonstrating that. The bigger mono's are a little more forgiving, and I do demonstrate the 19" Evo in Normal with a low Rx in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXWxdpaEja93o8U Thanks for watching.

Hi nice video comparison I have a question does this coil will work with the White's tdi pro i heard that coiltek does but looking fir something better for my tdi. Thanks.
@diggingwithphasetech4 жыл бұрын
I have tested the Detech Ultra and Nugget Finder Evolution coils on a TDI Pro and they work very well. Just be aware they can generate more ground signal compared to traditional bundle wound coils.

It's a fine line between them all.i was a.deepseekeer .whites 600d.guy in my earlier years.you had to manually adjust your machine as you went.now these machines do it automatically but when they cutting.out the mineral noise they have penetration gaps.mineral is iron.ferris metal.gold is not.but they both metal one day they will work out to pick up only non ferris metal.GOLD.because silver,aluminium,copper,lead,all rust away in their own way.but not gold!!!!!

thanks for putting the work in on this video Nenad . Were you using a standard Minelab battery , and with these big coils could it be beneficial to go with a higher amp hour rating battery or slightly higher voltage to support the coil size ? These big coils pull more current dont they ?
@diggingwithphasetech6 жыл бұрын
Standard battery mate. The GPX's input voltage is regulated, so higher voltage would make no difference. Higher amp/hr would give you longer run time, but then you'd lose the built in amp for external speaker use. The Minelab battery is great in my opinion.

Thanks Nenad. A great comparison. How deep were the nuggets - in particular the 2ger?
@diggingwithphasetech9 жыл бұрын
+Dan O'Hara (Detectist) Sorry, depths weren't measured. I just dug some holes, set the nuggets where the 14" Detech was just getting a sniff, then filled the dirt back and packed down hard.

Conclusions? Recommendations?
@diggingwithphasetech5 жыл бұрын
I'd have to watch the video again myself haha. I think what the video shows is that there are only small differences between coils, but sometimes a small difference may be enough to cause you to miss a target. The 12" Evolution continues to kick goals on small gold. The 15" Evolution is a brilliant coil for more depth on larger targets, but still sensitive enough to pick up very small gold. The 14" Ultra Detech is excellent value for money, but since this video was done the 15" Detech Super Deep Mono is out and it is a little heavier than the 14", but performance is excellent. Keep an eye out for future videos on this coil.
