Coil Conversion PT3 - HJ75 Troopy Build (EP22)

This episode we are continuing on the coil conversion using GU Patrol drive line gear on the front end!
We have removed more factory mounts and customized some of our own from scratch to accommodate the Patrol gear. All mounts have been welded to the chassis and we are finally sitting on coils!

Loving this build. Definitely some hard work and dedication. I know the engineer approved the concept but did he give you any guidance on weld placement. I know this is down to the individual engineer but best practice is to look at how the original chassis is constructed. Ive only looked over the patrol chassis but i imagine the cruiser would be the same. I doubt you will find a bracket on the chassis that has a weld closer than 15mm of the corner. Example is the way that factory coil hat is welded on a patrol. And you wont find a weld perpendicular to the chassis on the top or bottom. That piece at the front of the drop box that wraps down and under the chassis would concern me. Not trying to be negative but i want to see this still on the tracks in 20 years time.
