I thought you went over this before in a older video?? Being a Nissan guy I'd recommend coilovers for anything over a 2 inch drop due to the fact Nissan struts blow out fast after that. I've driven a Q50 on RSR SuperDowns springs with stock struts and it was still comfortable and definitely handled better. RSR seems to be the brand everyone uses as far as springs go, a follow-up video idea might be to get opinions on what brand of springs and coilovers to use and or to stay away from. Peace

Great vid and info as usual. Keep up the good work. I was one who installed lowering springs and the ride quality when to shit. Started bouncing around like crazy. Come to find out my shocks were blown. Ended up installing coil-overs and been happy since. Just hate that I wasted my time and money by paying someone to install the springs.

After figuring out the dampening, I got my bc coilovers the way it should be. I'm at level 15 all around which is stock feel. Now my thing is, I'm looking to upgrade the springs but I'm not sure if i should get the BC springs or swift springs. Most likely, the spring rate will be 10k.

You forgot to mention that your wheel alignment will get out of spec with a lowered car. Sometimes requiring suspension modifications so your tires will wear out evenly

Options for my 2010 G37x (sedan) are extremely limited. It's down to Swift Springs w/ OE-like KYB strut/shock replacement vs a set of like BC Racing coilovers. I can't tell if the BC coilovers come with the springs or not. You would think they would, but going through the purchase options on BC's website seems like you have to pay another $300+ for the Swift Spring "upgrade". So it's either like $1200-$1300 or $1600 for coilovers vs what, $350 for Swift Springs + $300 for a set of OE style KYB replacement shocks/struts..

If my Q50 was RWD I'd get the Hipermax IV-GT Coilovers, but being AWD and want the drive mode selector to automatically change my dampening rates I'm hoping the KW DDC coilovers will be come available. Plug n play. Smart phone app to adjust different rates in each drive mode too. I only want to lower my car .5"-.75"

Yo good looks for the info, I have bc racing coilovers coming in for my Q50 premium (rwd) and was nervous as hell about swapping out stock, I don’t want to lose too much ride quality but I want my car lowered 😂 I’m currently on front: 19x9.5 +15 with 225/35zr19 and rear: 19x10.5 +15 with 245/35zr19

Solid video fam. In your opinion, you think it would be worth it to thrown on some RSR springs on a 16 silver sport with the adaptive suspension with 46k on the dash or should i just go with some BC coils at this point and save my struts the stress of aftermarket springs. I am not lookin for a crazy low, just a nice clean little drop but i cant friggin decide between coils or springs lool, not to much info out there besides you.

I have a 2006 infiniti fx35. I live in NYC (bx). I want to change my shocks and struts on the car. The ride is horrible! I also want to change out the stock 18s wheels to 20s. Can you recommend a good set of shocks or coilovers for the car. I hate the way the car rides. Also when driving and hitting bumps at a certain speed the car feels like I'm about to lose control. I love the car, but HATE the handling.

Thanks Boost for another informative video. 2019 RS400 here in Boston, MA. Will be throwing on my new 20x9 and 20x10.5 with 245/35/20 & 285/30/20 soon. Since I have the digital dynamic suspension what lowering springs should I consider going with? Looking for clean drop. Unable to do installs anymore myself due to medical condition, so will be paying for the service install. Budget conscience. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I recently got a 2017 Q50 awd. The car has 45k miles with rsr down springs and otherwise stock suspension. The car rides absolutely HORRIBLE. Every bump feels very hard and the car bounces 4 or 5 times after going over even the slightest bumps. After watching this video, I'm convinced that the stock shocks are shot. How can I find a shock that will match up good with the lowering springs and function well with them? Is there a certain brand or range that I need to be looking at? Or should I just go for coilovers considering the labor cost of installing new shocks?
