Thanks to your videos, not only have you taught my grandchildren this hobby, but I cherish the bond that's grown between our Little Rug Rats and us. There is nothing more beautiful than to hear those excited voices on the phone telling us all about their newest find, rather an especially nice coin, or an error, they can't wait to visit their Grandma and Grandpa and show It to us. So Thank you very much.

I submitted a 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Coin to NGC to be graded. I sent it with the unopened Box it came in and the thing I forgot to do under Create a New Invoice was to fail to check the box that says Return Mint Packaging. So, when I finally got my package back from NGC I didn’t get my COA or Case. My mistake. I called NGC and found that others did the same thing as well. She said that there is no guarantee I will get and to check back in three weeks if it has not come in. So take the time to read everything.

So, I have some coins that according to some research I've done, could be worth a good amount. I think they're in good shape -- however, I'm not into numismatics, so I have no idea what "per coin value" to declare when I send these in. That's why I'll be sending them in to be graded, in the first place! How am I supposed to know what value to put for each coin, when the coin's worth is exactly what I'm trying to find out by having them graded?! Also -- this whole thing seems like a major rip-off. In order to find out how much my coins are worth so that I can possibly sell them, I need to pay what could be a huge chunk of any potential profit, just to find out if the coin even has the potential to bring in any profit at all. The prices are stupid-expensive.

About once a month I go to the bank and get rolls of quarters. Seems like the last few months I have noticed '90s sometimes '80s quarters in fine condition. I don't always keep these, maybe I should? Also $1's,vending machines. I check all throughly. I guess this is a question only an individual can answer. Do you think they should be saved and maybe graded, or just used as change?💰

Where do you get your proposed valuation from. I've run into an issue with a 1957 Russian 3 kopek. The world coin guide lists very high valuations but looking on ebay, these are not moving for anything near the guide valuations. Thanks for your insights and the channel.

I know the NGC and PCGS service, both are excellent for American currencies. Sometimes grid 1 or 2 points up or down. But I confess that foreign currencies are too flawed for authentication. There is a lack of specialized people in this area. I think they should really only classify American currencies. I've seen every encapsulation of Roman coins that make your hair stand on end, there are pieces that you can't tell if they are fake or real due to so much wear. But they simply encapsulate because it is an advantageous market. I am an ANA Member myself, and really in my opinion I don't find it interesting to have a coin sealed in an acrylic box, and I can't touch it and feel the whole story behind the coin in my hands. Coins have always been collected in this way, but suddenly from 3 decades, these firms started to emerge, in fact vision to really profit. I still consider and use the classic way to collect coins.

Hi Daniel great video as usual. Question: do you have a preferred grading service when making variety attributions? If so, what factors relate to this choice.
@CoinHELPu6 жыл бұрын
I don't have a preference really. It's all going to depend on the variety in how much it's worth and the price the service charges. I would send all high dollar varieties to NGC or PCGS and the rest to ANACS because their grading fees are more economical.

How do you do a submission with multiple U.S. coins and multiple world coins all with different special labels all on the same form. I’ve spent 3 hrs messing around with it and assume there isn’t a way and you have to submit them all separate, each with its own invoice because of the separate/different labels of each coin. Unless you mark it as no special label on the invoice and then describe in detail under “special instructions” what label you want with each coin and that you added world coins to the “U.S. coins” invoice under the “Modern” tier. What a headache, any suggestions? Hahaha I’m going to try it because I’m not trying to pay shipping on each submission lol they need to update their submission page!
@CoinHELPu5 жыл бұрын
You call NGC and ask them.
@jeremyhalstead69965 жыл бұрын
I was just being impatient last night and they were already closed. Great advice lol I called them and got it all figured out. If you send in more than one coin with different special label on the same invoice, under “special label” you type in “MIXED” then enter the early/first releases designation and label name and number on that specific coin line under verity and attribution. You have to do two separate forms for world and U.S. coins then write the certification number of the other submission form on the other submission and write ship together. Wow that’s a lot lol thanks for your advice! :) love the videos and all the useful and helpful info you put out!

Question: How is this even worth doing? If I have 5 coins I know I can sell for around, say $30 each raw, where is the cost/benefit in: paying a membership fee, paying $20 each for their opinion and a plastic case, waiting a month to get the coins back and praying the whole time that they come back graded high enough so I can make a $5 profit when I sell the bloody things on eBay a month later. And PCGS is worse! It all seems like a racket to me. Am I wrong about this? It seems like the real money is in selling those plastic cases...
@terrysadlier8456 Жыл бұрын
It's seem to me it's a bit of a racket. Maybe makes sense when it's a coin worth thousands but the absolute hassle of doing this is a massive headache. I mean why do you have to tell them how much the coin is worth? That's the whole reason I'd be submitting a coins! I don't know what it's worth or grade hence why I'm sending to you gimps l🤣✌️🇮🇪☘️

Hi Daniel, on the declared value of the coins part. Is that just for the shipping insurance cost? Or does it effect on how well the coin is graded. The reason I am asking is most don't know this, but the postal service will only pay you out the 50 to $100 automatic coverage, unless you can show proof of what the coin was bought via coin grading service or coin store receipt. Which if that is the case, it kind of is worthless to over pay for insurance. I have had this confirmed with one other person who's family is a postal worker. If anyone else can verify this, please comment as well. Thanks.
@CoinHELPu6 жыл бұрын
Declared value is for shipping cost and insurance coverage. USPS will cover as long as you have proof of value on your coins. I haven't had to use their insurance coverage for some time so not sure if how they do it has changed or not.
@marcloev20726 жыл бұрын
HD shovel Ed I’ve heard the same issue. I saw another submission video whereby when a raw coin package on its way to NGC was lost. USPS did only pay out a much reduced sum. Much less than the insured amount. Raw coins would require a receipt but if they were from an estate or or cherry picked and believe to be a higher value than there is no way to cover this. Does anyone know if Liberty Mutual, the insurance company that ANA recommends, would cover raw coin loss if they were being mailed for grading? Daniel - does your commercial insurance for your coin store cover you for loss while coins are in the mail?
@CoinHELPu6 жыл бұрын
@@marcloev2072 no we're not covered for lost in the mail. I just don't value my coins on what I think they will grade I value them on what I paid for them and I have no issue since I have a receipt.
