Daniel, thank you so much for this new error. The famous 1955 Lincoln DDO these are not. You're absolutely right regarding common versus rare varieties. Did the Mint unknowingly send a massive amount of these errors into circulation? Quantity is the big unknown right now. Maybe a year or two from now, collectors should have a better idea of what direction this is headed. This reminds me of the early San Francisco 1970's Lincoln die doubles that flooded the market that included true DDOs. In both cases, like all machine made products, there will always be flaws. I'll keep my eyes and ears open on this nickel as time moves along. Thanks again, Jedi Numismatist Master.

I have been a coin collector for some 50 years and I was looking at a 2023 P Roosevelt dime and found a error on the reverse side near the bottom of the torch below the 2 lower bands. I noticed a small crack leading into a tiny die chip. It's only a dot in size and hard to see. I not looking for a price but to inform you of this error. Good luck in finding one.

The list is well over 100 varieties now. Found 1 today that’s not on the list. Has a crazy distorted lamination on both sides (somewhat similar to new zinc cents) and all letters and date is almost twice as wide as normal. Like looking at an out of focus picture. Also, it is in very good condition.

When the Hub is transferred to the die they are placed in a hydraulic press and positive image of the hub is PRESSED into the working die. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZythoSNjpWVfM0 The US MINT even calls it a hubbing PRESS It is at this point where a slight misalignment caused a double die. Correct Again I ask are these DD caused by operator error or is something wrong with the equipment. Something is causing things to jiggle and be out of position. during the transfer process. @@CoinHELPu

I don't think doubled dies are a bad thing or lack of quality. It gives people something to look for that is worth more than face value.

I have a full box of 2023 d OBW rolls as well as 2022 and about 12 roll of 2021 and 2020 Jefferson nickels. Idk Ive been collecting OBW rolls for a couple years know and have quite a bit of money held. Mostly quarters and half dollar Rolls.

The downside to this is that some dealers will sell rolls of these nickels at inflated prices. It may already be happening though I haven't checked eBay yet.

All Philadelphia, of course. Those of us cursed to live in Denver mint-land are stuck with boringly perfect coins year, after year, after year. All the good quarter errors? Philly. All the good penny errors? Philly. All the good stuff to hunt for in general? Philly. Denver's quality control just makes the QA people at Philly look like a circus run by the clowns. Good for Denver...not so great for those of us stuck with 100% all new coins from Denver. It now takes years for Philly coins to filter down to us here in Arkansas. I *still* see very few Philly America the Beautiful quarters, NO American women quarters, and even finding the old Statehood quarters from Philly in circulation down here is fairly unusual. The only way I'm going to find any of the nickel errors is to buy rolls over the 'net from up in Yankee land. :(

most of them look like mechanical doubling or die deterioration and to me they're worthless specially if they're that small or hard to spot, probably a die chip may be worth more than all of them, except for a couple of them that really may be worth something.

That's not true, doubled dies can be discovered, especially on new coins but it's not the discovery of a new mint error or new kind of doubled die. No one attacked you.

@ yes they did sir. I showed pictures of the doubling before this video even came out, I just stopped watching your videos for a long time. Anything I shared on that help page I was told I was wrong. Even some dimes I shared with major Dieclash errors on the obverse and reverse. Told its PMD when that was absolutely wrong. You can straight see everything with an overlay. Two of the most strong Dieclashes I have seen on a dime and told I was wrong. Lol. gave zero help or anything. Just attacked for defending what I knew was right!

Your coins where what we told you, this video doesn't validate your coins, this video isn't about your coins. You still haven't studied and learned about the coin minting process. I just did a video on all the classes of doubled dies. Why do you need to hang onto your coins being something when they're not. You're not doing yourself any favors by not learning about real errors. No one attacked you, stop lying.

@ Dude. Lol. My coins are exactly what I have said they are! I know what you do here. And yes people have lied about what I asked for advice on. I had them looked at before I shared there to see exactly how truthful it is! Yes they did attack me! I know what doubling looks like! I have multiple DDO coins and several verified by Daniel Griffin! My dimes are major Dieclash coins as well! Had multiple people verify those as well! Just because I can't afford to send coins in to get graded doesn't mean I don't do a ton of research and have people who have done this a long time verify what I'm seeing!
