I love it when you search for something on eBay and every other listing describes the item as "rare" and "valuable" yet, the search returns 347 of these rare widgets for sale.

My aunt collects them, so I save any I find for her. They're lovely. Sometimes I still get them back as change. I can't believe what people try to sell these for online. Thank you for being honest and trustworthy, Daniel.

When I was a child, I liked the design of the bicentennial quarter so I started collecting them. I still like the design so I'm still collecting them when I find them. Won't pay more than $.30 for one though.

I like what the old coin dealer I know told me: "What ain't rare now never will be" followed by "what wasn't rare when it was minted will never be rare either" followed by "oh yeah, and just because it's rare don't mean it's valuable neither." LOL

Grew up in Philly but moved to GA in 1966 for college. I went home for the Bi-Centennial. So funny. People were selling sealed, plastic gallon jugs for $1.00. “PURE, BI-CENTENNIAL PHILADELPHIA AIR”. People were buying it as fast as the vendors could fill them up. Just sharing.

Hi Daniel, Love the channel and all of your help. A video that would be extremely useful is a deep discussion of the difference between the lower MS grades and upper AU grades. I see tons if PCGS pictures that show a MS RD coin that looks worse than a AU 50. I watched all of the PCGS videos on grading and cannot tell the difference. I know you have videos on grading and they are awesome but I think we need a deeper discussion about the subtle details. Thanks!

I think it does get to that point and when KZbin begins cracking down on so much duplicate content then maybe channels like mine will out pace them. I try to present the same coins but with a different approach.

in 1975 when these came out I was 11 years old, I wanted to see how many I could find and have been saving them ever since, 44 years later I am still finding them. I currently have 16 boxes of them. I don't know how many proof sets I have, I am now saving them for when I retire. My 81-year-old mom wants me to cash them in and take her on a cruise.

I've put them aside when I get one. I just like the design. Over a billion minted means it's worth exactly 25 cents.
@visaman
@visaman 5 жыл бұрын
In 1976, 25 cents had the same purchasing power that $1.13 has in 2019. So, in fact, a 1976 Quarter, isn't even worth a quarter these days.

I have a Quarter on hand, never seen this before, I really can't explain it either than the insides are jagged and a piece if the outside ridge is missing the silver color. I took a pic. Of it. Off topic here, sorry. I came into a situation where I needed to sell some silver. I decided on selling my rounds and a few bars to make 50 ounces. About 20 ounces were generic, and the rest were Eagles and Maple Leaves, plus some assorted stuff. I did the math before I went in and knew at spot it was worth about $880 dollars. I was paid $850 dollars which I though was fair. What did it for me was when the person helping me asked, from what I gathered was an owner, what to do with the foreign coins and he looked and said I had one that was worth a dollar over spot. He could have nickel and dimed me, but he gave it what it was worth … that impressed me.

I know somebody who had around $500 face of those. He asked me if I wanted to buy them for just face. I said no and he just took them back to his bank-lol. I also get one $500 box of quarters about every 2 weeks at my work (we have a change machine and pinball and pool tables) and I just never set them aside. I see at least $5 bucks in amount in every box-lol. I only keep the silver which on average I see one silver quarter once a year.
