Colapz Waste Pipes & Caravan Locker Improvement

A look at the Colapz waste pipe kit and I improve and re-organise one of the caravan lockers.

The Colapz Pipe Kit looks really good but also loved the idea of storing the old pipes in the Electrical Bag; The Locker floor filler is an absolute genius idea which I will definitely try in our locker.

Pleased you found this video inspiring Dave 👍. I’ve found the pipes are prone to ‘collapsing’ when warm water runs through them. However, if the ground is flat or slopes towards the drain then they are fine. In some instances I use the original corrugated pipe with a collapz on the end because they are perfect for bending into the drain point, so I am glad I purchased them. @@robswiseways5697 Hi Rob We have been away from touring for 6 years. We ordered a new caravan back in June 2021 yes 2021 😟.. The dealers are hopeful that it arrives w/c 9:1:23.. We really hope so as we have had so many dates that have been unfounded.. If it arrives we going on a 4-6 week break..

Hi Rob. We love our Colapz Pipes would not be without them. I have added a length of PVC pipe from the outlet since which does help with the first stage draining of the waste water. Thanks Phil🙂👍

Happy New Year Rob and safe travels for 2023. We've been using the Colapz system for a couple of seasons now, we added one extra pipe early on as 4m (4pipes) sometimes didn't reach the waste drain, another tip is when draining down the system prior to departure/moving on/ going home we fill the sink with the hot water then we pull the plug which cleans the pipes out as it drains out..

Happy New Year to you too Howard. I went to my local dealer for toilet chemicals and came back with the Colapz kit, I rather wished I had looked at the Colapz website first as they do a 8 pipe kit. Probably need to buy more pipes as I have used the longer coiled pipe on a couple of occasions. Filling the sink with hot water is a good tip, thanks for that 👍. Gail always drops some Zoflora disinfectant and boiling water down each plug hole before I take the pipes off, smells great. All the best for the 2023 touring season, Rob & Gail

We have the Colapz pipes, they work well. They do sell supports to help raise the pipe off the floor and this can help in situations where the pipe would go too low and then back up hill. You can create a suitable incline using the pipe support stakes. Happy new year Rob.

In the past I’ve used a stone or brick to lift the flexi pipe but you cannot always find one lying around. At least the Colapz supports will always be in the locker. Afternoon Rob, first of all, as a caravanner of almost 50 years, thank you very much for your most interesting and enjoyable videos. I have a similar grey waste pipe setup using the white plastic domestic 32mm pipe. I didn't drill the skirt to attach the hooks to support the pipe and create the necessary fall. I attached 2 self adhesive hooks on the inside of the skirt from which the wire supports hang and then the pipe. I, like you, hate the convoluted waste pipe. It's like fighting a jellyfish!😂 After watching this video a couple of times, I have purchased a Colapz Flexi-waste pipe kit for the very same reasons that you so eloquently describe in this video. Given the expandable and bendable properties of this product, I'm looking forward very much to testing it out as and when the weather allows. Hi rob happy new year Iv gone from using the pink thetford flush to using zaflora and it’s far better and cheaper less weight and you only need a cap full and you don’t get the black bits that sometimes build up as it’s a disinfectant 👍

That’s interesting Phil, I’m going to try that 👍. Gail drops a little zoflora into the plug holes and then flushes through with boiling water on the last day of the holiday before I take the waste pipes off. Happy New Year Rob, they are handy but if not supported correctly the name is correct as they collapse on the corrugated tubing when extended, you can buy hammer in supports not sure if they support it better though,

Happy New Year Rob and safe travels 2023, Just a quick question How do you find and book a Fully serviced pitch, in the CMC book and web pages don't seem to have a tick box for that criteria, for club sites or C L's is it just a case of ringing the site ?

To book a fully serviced pitch on a club site or on a CL is not straight forward. There is no easy one step method to take you directly to these sites and there are no helpful symbols to aid you in your search. To find a club site that offers a fully serviced pitch, first choose a site then scroll down to touring pitch types. This will tell you if it has serviced pitches. Choosing a serviced CL can be very time consuming as you literally have to read through the description of each one. These are sometimes referred to as enhanced pitches. To look for sites with serviced pitches in the CMC book you have to go to the specific site you want and read through the facilities that site offers. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack, I have raised the issue on this subject with the club on three occasions at the NEC show but to no avail 😕. To be honest I tend to only use one section at the end of the rigid pipe. Not experienced any problems so far but I can see the potential problem with the constant flexing of the concertina action. Thanks for getting in touch about it, Cheers Rob 👍

Why on earth do you carry all of that excess weight?. You don't need green as well as blue. Just use green - it covers every site. We keep a small sample bottle & fill from the stock bottle kept in the garage. Take just enough for holiday trip.

Hello there Linda, You do have a point and I am in fact currently running down my small stock in preparation to use only green.
