Underrated comment. I long believed that those albums will become critial as they can't play the fast stuff when they hit 70's etc, but that hard rock stuff, could play that until they are 80 +. ​@@DillyDilly13 Fidelman has used samples on their live video mixes since he started mixing them, specifically the snare, it's pretty obvious (especially in tuning room videos), but that's the only thing, he's surprisngly kept the kicks natural though. You can hear it at 3:20 pretty well on that snare fill. Nothing wrong with that though, whatever sounds good. You can also see Roland triggers on the bottoms of his rack toms, and likely the other drums, but that's more likely just to trigger gates from, not for triggering samples.

Wow! They sounded tight and GREAT. James sounds fresh and very old school "yelling in key" as he once called it. We like that, us old Schoolers. I joined them between Master and Justice. I just about wore out the original Garage Days $5.98 ep cassette that summer and fall of 1988 until I heard Justice. Then I just about wore that out. Thank God The Black Album was on CD. I still use Enter Sandman to test any new soundsystems out. It is the pinnacle of huge, hard and clear sound, masterfully produced by Bob Rock.

Lars' playing hasn't been this tight since the early nineties. Kirk's riffing like a beast and his solo was flawless. James barking like it's 1989. Rob rocking out looking like bad ass Danny Trejo. Looks like Metallica isn't done for a while. Hell yeah!

Agreed. Funny thing though, and not a criticism, is that its really funny watching Lars make drumming seem extremely difficult(even though it is) vs others making it look easier. Lars looks like it doesn't come naturally and that he has to REALLY concentrate. Take nothing away though, hes still fantastic.

I'll let you in on a little secret. Despite being a wonderful person and an absolute legend, Kirk isn't actually that good of a guitarist. And... to make it a bit clearer, this solo much like all his solos of that era, are LITERALLY ALL WAH :D So yes, showing his "shoes" is literally the majority of the Battery solo.
