Please consider thinking more positively. Be the counterweight to all this madness. … I think many people who hold internalized biases, or submit to the caste system, will see the film or be influenced by it.

‘Origin’ is such a great movie. I watched it three times in theaters. Now that it’s on Hulu, I can encourage even more people to watch it.

I agree it was a fantastic movie. Was I the only one who had problems with it on Hulu? It kept cutting to a commercial at each pivotal moment and then it would jump ahead. It was frustrating enough for me, having seen it already, I’d hate for it to be someone’s first experience.

It’s an absolute masterpiece of Ava’s! It’s a history piece full of lessons and real stories from real people and they move me in such a way that I can’t quite put in text form right now. I bought her movie and I’ve watched it three times so far. I love Ava and her works and so far this is her best work, in my opinion… also my opinion, a must watch for everyone of all generations.🫶

I am in awe of Ava DuVernay's brilliance and that of Isabel Wilkerson. These geniuses are such a necessary gift to our current world. The book Caste is actually very readable - amazing give its content. Both of these women's catalogs of work should be required reading and viewing for all Americans. They embody everything that scares people who want to ban books and critical race theory education.

Origin is an outstanding film. Steven Colbert should have watched it before this interview to take the conversation to a deeper level. This film should be required viewing in every school. I would love to see five different directors take this story and tell it in their own different ways. Very disappointing that Colbert hasn’t seen this, and didn’t have a more meaningful conversation with Ava. Watch this film.

Someone should re-release Fahrenheit 451 also. She's right, fiction reaches people on a gut level that documentaries don't. Also there are people who would never watch a documentary but will go to a fiction film.

Isabel Wilkerson also wrote: The Warmth of Other Suns. I actually have that one but just haven't made time yet to read it. I plan to now tho, since i can't afford Caste! I believe it will be about Class & Caste & the Intersectionality of so many of our Struggles. The Working Class is made up of All People of Color - which includes white people; and both women & men; & gay & straight; & Immigrants - both documented & undocumented & Folks i haven't even thought of yet. But i'll bet, that if we all finally realize to stop looking sideways & downward, for the blame for our own sorry predicaments & started to finally look UP, at the real culprits - we'd find we have MUCH more Common Cause & Unity! And this awakening just scares the you know what, out of the ruling class!

First, if you haven't seen *ORIGIN* and don't have Hulu, it is available to rent on Amazon Prime for $4, or to BUY (recommended) for $10. Seeing, digesting, and understanding the reality within this film is crucial. Second, *Ava DuVernay's Lights! Caramel! Action!* is the BEST ice cream I ever had!!! Seriously. I buy the non-dairy version of it. The bits of caramel, graham cracker and cookie dough pieces are a revelation!! 😋😋😋😋😋

Caste is a function of our ancient evolved "survival" brain. We struggle to dominate but are hard wired to accept a more submissive status. In our massively overpopulated society, we are far more likely to lose status than gain it as we compete with our fellows in classrooms, job settings, social clubs, churches, political organizations, military organizations, and a myriad more hierarchical organizations, all of which exhausts us and increases our chronic stress hormone levels, typically resulting in the top ten killing diseases of "modern" man. The only caste free organization in human history is the Hunter-Gatherer clan/band, still visible today in some Native American clans/bands, most of which are matriarchal and otherwise egalitarian.
