Thats not exactly true, he always was weird around beautiful women and he did throw Claire a couple of Times under the bus because of this an belittlet her when she called him out for it ( for example the Episode where he actually pushed her in the Oranges because he was flirting with a women in the store) also because he always was the " fun dad" i think Claire always had to be extra responsible and often had to be the "Bad guy" for her children. I still love the character but he was definitivly as flawed as the rest of them

@tin pan alley 1619 Broadway on moving there, my father,who dealt with the public found fast that he had to speak slower than the faster Eastern speed speech. I had an American History prof at UCLA that collected accents,spotted where I came from and told that national movement of people went across the country. That the large population of Oregon was Scandinavian in origin,mostly because the Mormons had gone to Europe and promised the people land if they became Mormon. Having g spent time in Minnesota with its' large Scandinavian population background I think the slower careful speech had an influence even in Oregon. Nice people in Oregon
