Good human, doing the important, self-aware, work. I love the idea of keeping it "true" rather than getting it "right". Knowing people like Common, and Stephen, are in the world gives me comfort and hope.

The important thing about self-care, is that when we do it, we can show up for others in a much more compassionate and present way. It's a win-win, as they say.

Saw this on late night Aussie TV after I got home from a shitty experience with ppl at work. This uplifted me so much. Always love Common- but never knew what an amazing down to earth person he is. Every word made me feel better and I'm ready to take a simple step every day to improve my wellness!

I have loved Common since I first saw him in "Hell on Wheels". He was so powerful in that role. Of course, he's been several after that. Can I just say that I like what the dude has to say as a human being and as a man. 👏

Spoken like someone with no health issues lol. I'm often prevented from doing what I want to because of my body, but I'm still taking care of myself and trying to give myself the grace to do what I want when I can.

I was burning Palo Santo tonight, it's so relaxing. I started making my own incense cones recently and the PS is my favorite. Sometimes I add other things to it like lavender but I try to keep it natural

When you're at the top of your game, you can do things that others can't. Keeping it "true" vs. "getting it right" is not always helpful. I've mentored many young men who had very self destructive habits and mindsets. They sincerely believed that changing their behavior or mindset would be "selling out". To become more successful in life I had to stop "keeping it true" (meaning get outta my feelings/emotions) and start "getting it right" (meaning become disciplined enough to stick to standards that lead to the desired outcomes). but anyway.

Women (and please no issue here - many people regardless of sex or gender also… but ..) have asked themselves that forever and always will… taking space and time for self care is daunting at minimum… we are busy caring for all Others … but it’s beyond critical.
