Mr. Colbert, I have to mention how smoking hot your studio band is. I love their mini intro's of the bands they play. Like tonight they were doing a bit of the Neville Brothers who I love and know those guys really well, though Art and Charles Neville passed away. Willie Green their ol' drummer was my close buddy, Cyril Neville to. Plus it really trips me out when your band plays excerpts of Fela Kuti. Thee KING OF AFRO BEAT WHO TO THIS DAY STILL ROCKS. PEACE UP FROM BALI. 🌴✌️✌️🏄🏄🏄✌️✌️🌴

Notice that musicians, like T-Bone and Elvis here, often acknowledge the band. They know what a constellation Jon put together, Louis inherited, and Stephen continues to go to bat for. Actors sometimes do as well, especially Broadway people who know that you're only as good as your band. Politicians, not so much; they tend to take a band this good for granted.

Great thanks and gratitude for your fun processing of tragic truths and social needs Stephen. Thank you for the the platform for 2 great musicians seeking to convey their heartfelt, career length personal knowledge of the great opportunities and gifts that the culture of freedom and responsibility, in America, that has been so well captured and conveyed by musicians in America, whether from America or elsewhere - such as the great Declan Macmanus, known as Elvis Costello, and T-Bone Burnett.

I got to meet Elvis Costello in a record store in Detroit Michigan I was standing behind him in the line and I didn’t recognize him at first but after he walked away an employee shows the other employee that he was Elvis Costello and I practically ran outside and caught him before he was leaving and we took a couple of pictures. If I wasn’t listening to what the employee was saying I would have let my favorite singer walk right past me.

I wonder how many people in Colbert’s audience even know Elvis Costello, much less T Bone Burnett. Burnett may be the most important name in American music the past 30 years, but he’s mostly behind the scenes as a producer of some of the great American rock, roots rock, folk rock, country, and Americana. He’s a walking encyclopedia of American music, and anyone who wants to make a better album calls in T Bone to make it happen. T Bone Burnett doesn’t often cut his own records, but his latest, _The Other Side_, will make you cry, it’s so good. Absolutely check it out.

Arrived in Santa Barbara in 1979, Elvis Costello was playing the Arlington Theater: Sold out, could hear the warm up band standing out side when I spied a man go to the ticket booth back door...he was handed a coupe of tickets, asked if I could buy the extra...he gave it to me, it was a comp, in the 5th row center...ever get to SB, check out the interior of the Arlington...

Aside from this trash propaganda show, I don't think people realize how important Mr Burnett is to music, across all genres. He's been crawling around like a vampire with a country accent since after the Vietnam War making music for every top performer on the planet. I don't really understand this guy, but he's creatively connected to something that nobody else is. It's extremely rare to be this creative in all fields over a lifetime.
